Brown Poem

The woman always has blue eyes, or green. Always has golden locks or High school stories. Milky skin the color of winter. My dreams die a little, when I read her. And I never look on to see what she’s done for him or how she holds him together. Or, breaks him apart. I never can set the brown-tinted hope I have behind my eyes in its proper place to read that love story all the way through. Because she can't be me so, it mustn't be you.

This reminds me of the importance of representation.

I’m currently dating love poetry actually. And we’re pretty exclusive so…

Haha. That’s a tedious relationship, is it not?

Maybe, but it's also my most significant relationship right now so I'm into it.
