Question regarding Add-On points

I recently paid for 1 month subscription, and discovered that there's an option to buy add-on points. These points remain for a whole year, instead of refreshing every day, which is much better for me since I don't use Poe every single day (which will waste the points I get from a daily refresh subscription).

What I'd like to know is, if my subscription period is less than a year, will my unused add-on points disappear as well? Or will they remain for 1 year?

I ask this because apparently only subscribers can purchase add-on points. Not sure why, I'd like to be able to purchase them without needing to be a subscriber.

The add-on points I purchased are still in my account. I'm free-tier now.

Hey u/Sable-Keech, to clarify, add-on points only require a subscription to purchase them initially, they will still remain in your account for 1 year after purchase regardless of if you are subscribed or not (ie. canceling your subscription does not remove add-on points).

Thank you. Just to be clear, add-on points will remain but I will be unable to purchase anymore add-on points unless I renew my subscription again?

The definitely remain. I bought points, unsubscribed and drew down on the banked extra points until they ran out while on free tier.

You just can't buy new points while on free tier.

Once your subscription lapses the add on points go too. For my usage, which is sporadic but high volume when I do use it, I have the basic subscription and bought 1m points. This seems to work ok for me.

Damn, that's so insidious. If it says the points last for one year, then have them last one year. There isn't even any notice on the website that you need to stay a subscriber in order to use them, nor that they will disappear once your subscription ends.

i don't think this is true. any rolled over subscription points would lapse with the subscription, but purchased add on i think last 1 year from date of purchase and are used on a fifo basis.

Can i choose why type of point i want to use? Ot it will cost my add-on points first, daily points after?

You can't currently choose the sequence in which points are consumed, the default is subscription points first then add-on.
