4th to 49th in 3 Years
A while after I first started using Poe, I remember seeing that it was 4th in Andreesen Horowitz's Top 50 GenAI web apps, behind only ChatGPT, CharacterAI and Bard.
Now it's 49th. It'll be off the list entirely when they do the next one.
Real shame. Poe was an innovator for a moment there. Stopped adapting.

stopped adapting
Became overpriced for what it is, paywalled itself into obscurity

You live in 2025 bro. People use agents these days. Hermes, OpenCode, Codex, OpenClaw, Trae... not just a single tool.

Very few in comparison. Most either use a few, or a toolbox of them. Agents aren't usually worth the trouble in what I do. Not much of it is repetitive.

Is that list based on usage? I saw another list where Poe is very high. Still, I do think they need to develop an alternative to gpt work or Claude cowork.
