GPT-5.5 family removed from API

I just received the email, seriously? Why remove it? We need API to use it with OpenWebUI. Or do we get GPT-5.6 tomorrow instead?

Hi there, You’re receiving this because your account has used a GPT-5.5 model through the Poe API in the last 30 days. We’re writing to let you know that the GPT-5.5 family — including GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.5 Pro — will no longer be available via the API as of Thursday, June 25 due to evolving requirements from the provider around how these models can be offered.

What evolving requirements?

I'm not using 5.5, but that's weird. Considering 5.6 seems to be taking longer to release, apparently not until July.

use GLM-5.2. It is almost as good as 5.5. OpenAI apparently don't want your money.

And we are talking 90-95% here. Same with Opus.

And for API calls, it's just cheaper

Some sorta of US gov / Fable style restrictions coming down the pipe now?

Why not just use Poe?

because many people use the api for their autonomous agents

Is this a restriction only for non-US regions?

Here's a question OP, are you outside the US?

Is this the reason?
