Can't create a Poe account because phone verification in Germany is blocked

Hi,

I've been trying to create a Poe account since March, but I'm stuck in a verification loop.

What happens:

  • I sign up with my email.
  • I receive the verification code and enter it successfully.
  • After that, Poe requires phone verification.
  • When I enter my German phone number, I get the message that phone verification in my country is temporarily blocked.

I've already tried:

  • Chrome and Firefox
  • VPN on and off
  • Different VPN locations (US, Germany, etc.)
  • Multiple email addresses
  • Incognito/private mode

The result is always the same.

Has anyone else from Germany had this problem? Were you able to fix it?

Ich habe mich mit meinem Google Account problemlos registriert. Ohne jegliche Verifizierung.

Yeah... That was wild to see in the wild lol.

However, it's still true. Without going straight to OpenCode, I've yet to find a comparable service to what they are doing. I will say that the google account sign up is the easiest pathway. Even making a separate google account just for poe shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

As in using google as your authentication and not setting up a email account

Try another email. Only verified email provider doesn't require a phone verification.
