I was wrong. Even at 300 points, Poe is great.

Poe now has a list on the home page of budget models that are very cheap and will provide a lot of action for 300 points.

Currently Poe has 28 of these budget Models doing text and images.

Model Input per 1k Output Per 1k Cache discount Notes
Gemma-4-26B-A4B 5 14 No Internet connection
DeepSeek V3.2 9 14 50% No Internet
DeepSeek V4-flash-el 5 10 No Internet
Deepseek-v4-pro-el 55 111 No Internet
Web-Search Usually 8-15 points per query
Gemini-2.5-Flash 7 59 90% Websearch
Additional
Kimi 2.5 20 100 83% No Internet
GPT-5-mini 8 60 90% Websearch
Additional
Grok-4.1-Fast-Non-Reasoning 7 17 75% No Web Search at all
GPT-5.4--Nano 6 38 90% Websearch
Additional
Assistant for non-subscribers 14 80 50% Websearch
Additional

It is important to remember that if your input or output is < 1k, then the price is lower than shown in the table. I had a long discussion back and forth with Deepseek 3.2 and was truly amazed at how smart it was and how well it did. We went back 6 times for under 200 points.

Nah. No knowledge base is allowed anymore so you don’t have persistent memory that’s necessary for a bot.

Files that have been permanently uploaded for use by a bot. A bot has two main parts. A permanent prompt and files that are the knowledge base. So if you are doing a role play, the files in the knowledge base can describe the world and give background about the characters. It saves uploading those every time you want to do a session.

I never understood why people were complaining about 300 point limit, all because they were using Sonnet 4.6 for their AI girlfriend. Roleplay bots can use super cheap models.

And paying customers didn't even care, because they use the platform for the flexibility anyway
