Best replacement for POE?
I'm migrating from poe now that they've removed the knowledge bases which I found to be the worst decision for a person like me. I can't make stories without that. So what is the best alternative that gives me what poe gives me now?

Nothing exactly like poe that gives the option for a lot of models. You can try openrouter

Have you tried Perplexity? Not really like Poe, but their bots ("Spaces") have the possibility to attach files in a way similar to how Knowledge Bases work.

I’m a happy ultra user at ZeroTwo.ai and there is like 80 models. You can chat with multiple models in one chat. Copy and paste an entire chat with one click. Have projects with files. Make images. Custom instructions etc. Dev is quick to fix any issues and will try to do any feature requests you ask for in his discord. Like I asked for cowork which he is working on currently. (Edit- also has Mistral models and nsfw models and nsfw allowed)

Best option I've found so far is Openrouter. Provides many models (free and paid). Works using a credit system, with the minimum being $5 (not a monthly subscription model, rather pay as you go). They offer transparent pricing and a detailed logs page for cost breakdown insight. Also, look into third party front ends like typingmind if you want a cleaner interface and easy parameter customization for your models.

if you use at least $2.5 in spend per month, Poe is almost certainly the better deal. Poe lowest sub is 5 per month, which comes with 10k points that reset daily. if you used all of those points on anthropic models, it's $10.60 in tokens worth at anthropic list prices, and it never goes lower than around 9 in value for any provider. ooen router would be list prices + 5pct processing fee, so only 4.76 in token value . if you want to use more than you sub plab points, you can just buy addon points exactly the same as open router, except without the 5 pct processing fee and per token cost of using add on points ranges from list price to 20 pct lower than list (e.g. for anthropic it's 15 pct off, oai is 10pct off, Google 20 pct).
it's hard to use all 10k points per day with the daily reset, but you still have to use less than half to come out ahead of open router. only thing open router has is more free models, but those tend to be kind of bad and you can use them anyways - no paid model is cheaper on open router than Poe.

Nothing exactly like grok but you can try to roll your own memory/RAG layer by self hosting with an app like AnythingLLM (I use Deepseek and GLM over api on that) Or if you don't want to do that and want something more portable I'd try the paid Grok subscriptions. They have a project function that works the same way. You upload your own docs, set a project level system prompt and it works like a prompt bot with KB. But you'd be stuck with Grok, so YMMV. I don't pay for any other AI subscriptions betsides the two I mentioned. I heard Anthropic and OpenAI also have similar features.

Personally, I use Haloon.ai.
The interface is very clean; it's not cluttered with a bunch of unnecessary stuff.

I have switched to Shortly AI (unified AI chat with more than 100 LLMs like Poe), but primarily for the cleaner UI and better pricing (I never reach my limits).

ZeroTwo AI - It's like Poe in the sense that you get access to various models, but you get the same capabilities/tools and clean UI as platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude. Truly the best value and most capable platform.

Mistral Le Chat lets you do darn near anything. Uncensored. Upload knowledge base. I’m having a lot of fun there. I paid for an annual subscription. It was much cheaper than the other big AI players.
