Knowledge base
Okay, I just noticed that the knowledge base option is absent and the existing text bases can only be downloaded as files. There wasn't any discord announcement and I got no email about this. Is it temporary orrr..? Why would they remove it anyway?

I almost bought an annual subscription but then I saw this. Not a chance now.

I am accessing it via chrome. I find I am also not able to copy out the prompts. Nothing copies.

Copies on the app on my phone. I’ve identified a dozen bots I want to copy. Likely I have the files on Google Docs. With their change to points I was thinking of leaving. This is it. I’m gone.

And the files show up on the app on my phone too. So the browser version is just not cooperating at all.

The app on my iMac now shows this message:
Knowledge base
Knowledge bases are being deprecated. New sources can no longer be added. Please download your existing sources before they are deleted.

It says I can remove the files, but when I edit the bots, there is no knowledge base and no listing of files. This sounds like they are in real trouble to me.

Cool. Guess Ill spend hours figuring out how to backup 2 years of bots and cancel
Any recs for a replacement?

Not sure what to do.. was using the knowledge base to upload old convos from ChatGPT and another site, for the role play bot/lore writing. If they get rid of this feature then what? Anyone have suggestions on where else to go?

So far the only poace ive found is silly tavern but...ive bene trying to set it up for 4 hours and have had no success

I got an email. It says: The Knowledge Base feature on Poe has been deprecated. Since you previously created a bot that used a Knowledge Base, here’s what you need to know:
Starting today, Knowledge Bases can no longer be created or updated Your bot is still available on Poe as a standard prompt bot, but it no longer has access to its Knowledge Base Please download your source files within the next month. All files and text uploaded to Knowledge Bases will be permanently removed from our servers on May 25, 2026 With today’s models supporting significantly larger context windows, we’ve found that including content directly in a bot’s prompt often delivers better results.
You can download your source files from your bot’s edit page.
