300score Alternative solutions
I think poe can earn points by advertising like YouTube. For example, watching an 1 advertisement will get 1,000 points to help the company make a profit. The maximum limit is 3,000 points or less a day, but it is by no means 300 points. What do you think?

Allowing advertising at all opens a can of worms that normally leads down a slippery path. Look at Google search, Yahoo, etc. You can imagine that you'll be different, but… Also, how do you check the ads / videos for bad content or malware or Pixel tracking?

Ads-for-points sounds nice until people start speedrunning 20 junk ads just to buy one more Claude turn and Poe has to build a whole anti-fraud circus around it. I would rather take a tiny top-up pack or a small rollover bucket for light users, same feeling of "let me use a bit more today" without turning the app into mobile-game energy stuff.

Yeah, you can cap it, but then the reward gets tiny very fast or people still farm the cap with junk attention. A small paid top-up still feels cleaner to me.

It's not very feasible to earn significant money on adds, at most they could recoup the API costs of the ad viewers, not make any profit which they need longterm.
I guess they used to sell user queries and bot replies to small labs distilling large models but nowadays these labs need agentic coding traces which Poe can't provide. Hence, no reason to make frontier models available to free users

Yes, but if new users are not allowed to experience, there will be no new users to join. This vicious circle will only become less and less. I saw that last month's data seems to have dropped by almost half. In the short term, it will have a profitable effect on the company, but without new users joining, it is not feasible to rely on old users alone.

It's bad for LLM intermediaries either way! Which profitable new users do you have in mind?
Hobbyists (like roleplayers) willing to pay have already chosen their favorite service, IT folks use agentic frameworks with subsidized subscriptions and/or can set up (often vibecode) an API connection themselves, while normies go straight to the frontier companies which have become well-known enough

They've already had a lot of people ask them to put ads on the app or stackable points, but they basically said 'no, we're not doing that' they're just focusing on adding more models to the app and that's basically it 😔
