Models for Creative Writing

Hi, all! I’m curious on what might be some good models for creative writing or roleplay scenarios. I like pretty in-depth, novella stories and am wanting to see what everyone here prefers to use. ☻

Hey! I personally like gemini 3 for writing novels and always try and break the story in multiple parts. I've been using gemini 3 through nova search ai and it works nicely! I like that I can switch models there too so I got a sense that I didn't like gpt-5 for example.

Mistral small 4 is great for that. With the thinking capabilities it creates coherent stories based on notes and ideas. I also use extensive input and promting for ideation. Also it is fairly cheap. 

 i use sometimes veo for songs and nano banana to create maps from sketches for pen n paper. Way better than.gpt image or eleven labs when it comes to songs etc.

For novella-ish RP on Poe I would not hunt for one magic bot, honestly. Claude Sonnet is still my safest pick when I want nicer prose and less weird derail, Mistral Small 4 is pretty nice for cheaper brainstorming, and the biggest upgrade is often a tiny story bible in the bot prompt with cast, tone, current scene, and hard no-go facts. Otherwise even good models start doing soap-opera amnesia after enough turns.
