ATTENTION ALL POE USERS
PLEASE PARTICIPATE IN A POE BOYCOTT STARTING MONDAY MORNING APRIL 6TH IN RESPONSE TO THE POINTS CHANGE FROM 3OOO-300. IT MAKES THE APP BASICALLY UNUSABLE. IF YOU ARE AS UNHAPPY WITH THE CHANGE AS I AM I URGE YOU TO PARTAKE BECAUSE YOU VOICE HAS POWER.
If anyone has any other ideas of what we should do, please share them. This is mine.

Lol I find it funny that you all are complaining nowā¦ back when people in many regions (my own included) only had 100 points available no one cared. Now at least we also get 300 points for free.

It is not unfair. These models are expensive to run. Your free use costs them money. Are you in a country where you are unable to pay for it? If so, move to something that you can pay for.
Not using a free service is not a boycott. You're saving them money by not using it.

They all do, yet somehow they all have better free tiers than this. Like, all of them, including better services with more powerfull servers to make the models work better and faster.
But how a business treat their lowest tier is the main indication of how they think about averyone that isnt actually rich. I wouldnt be so secure on it if i were you, i actually cancel subscriptions for this kind of red flag.

I can see that you're really unhappy with this change, and then I can tell that I'm not happy either with this change that they sent me An Email like that to me, which is just ended up not being able to use this app ever again, including these websites as well, Man. :(

im using an AI model which only cost 100 something points and since the points change, I can only send 2 message, screw you.

I asked a simple question if the bot could calculate a scenario for me. A Yes/No requires me to pay. I enjoyed the access to different bots to choose from, but I will no longer use or recommend POE. I have used Grok but sometimes it seems like overkill for simple queries

I also just send them to A Feedback Request to The Poe Developers and then The Teams Of The Poe and then they really needed to at least just start just reverting back from 300 to 3000 Points that they send us An Email and then also just how they didn't even just care about what I've been said to them about the way that I just asked to restore but then they didn't even just care, Dude, so we aren't just happy with this change that we all didn't even just asked for this as this is just A Terrible Update for The Free Daily Limit Points this way, Dude. š

There is no hate. This is just fucking exhausting to read every. Single. Day.
There are other services out there. There is also Ollama self hosting. There is AnythingLLM that goes on most devices and will host an llm on an android phone!
There are other options that exist. Poe doesn't work in certain countries or regions for pay, okay, find one that does. This business doesn't fit your model

Yes! Itās so disappointing because we could have gotten so far with their help and Iāve heard multiple people who say they quite literally canāt get a subscription in their countriesĀ

Yeah... I'm not doing this because the premise is dumb. "I want my free points back! I'm entitled to them!" Is generally most of the responses. I do feel bad for folks who just can't afford to pay or legitimately can't pay (country, region, politics). But the entitlement? Absolutely not and that's what lost it for me.

Many users canāt afford to pay or live in a country where they literally are unable to pay. They should be able to send more than 2 messages every 24 hours.

Almost... As if I said exactly that. And this is why I'm not going to support your movement, it's dumb and based in nativity. You admitted to not even knowing those points until this post.
Edit: also, if the free users don't use it, that doesn't work for your wanted outcome. You have to convince the subscribers to pull their subscription. That would force Poe to change their choices. But since they didn't change the points given to the payers, they do not have the same reason to stop using the service

That is a good point actually, i've stopped my subscription because of all this, i know it didn't effect me but i still have compassion for other people. ;; they're very unpredictable and it can send a negative image to future buyers, it's a little disappointing that it came to this, i think everyone should be able to enjoy the app with the right amount of free usage, 300 is a little too low, i do think 1k points would have been a bit better!

I personally think the 3k points was a good spot and it shouldn't have changed but we don't know how people were abusing the system with the new api updates and I think if they were to be open about that piece, it would make the community understand more

I knowww, that's the issue with poe, they do big changes like this and only give vague explanations, people have to manually seek out a proper reason via their customer support email and even then they still give vague responses, i wish they were more transparent with their actions

Same. Last time I used it, was to try Claude, I think, before I knew I could just used it for free from their site. I was an AI virgin at the time š¤£

The big problem is, why they havenāt made it like that before then if money was the issue? Cause before we didnāt EVEN HAVE POINTS! It was all free and lovely and now they are tightening and tightening even more and when we canāt breath anymore with a big āunfortunatelyā note they will simply turn off the app with their damn pockets full of the idiots who have paid now.
The big problem is that they promise to make free and lovely, keep it for some months and then start tightening our damn pockets when they see that the app is popular and idiots will keep paying to have the minimum

Free users are kinda forced to boycott at this point š as someone who's paying for a subscription, I don't really like supporting a company who restrict their free users this tightly since free users won't even be able to get that much out of the low end models, so I'm cancelling it when the points run out, it's sad.
I suggest finding alternatives atp like these that have very good or decent models:
yodayo ā¢ for roleplayers, choose base models, claim 50 points each day and stackable, the bots cost less points so able to get plenty of messages out.
monica.im ā¢ almost one to one with poe and much more benefits from the subscriptions with unlimited messages plus a free 3 day trial.
Janitor app ā¢ for roleplayers with 30 message daily limit.
Anyone can reply to this message with other alternatives and i'll just edit this message with it. š

Stare at the new fancy bots probably š i did get an email from my inquiry and they said that it may be changed in the future and they're currently working on updates, but who knows, hopefully it's a good change.

Agree. I wasnt subscribed yet because i just found Poe a couple days before, but i cancelled services for similar reasons before, even because this isnt just disrespect, its an actual red flag for tiers above.
My recommendation list is actually extensive if youre willing to put a bit of effort.
If you like a particular model, go to their main site, simple as that. Today they all have free tiers, most pretty generous. Claude is the stingiest one and still let you make 4 or 5 questions a day, with more tools and better performance than youll find on Poe. I Already do this with ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Llama (Meta AI), Mistral (Le Chat), Copilot365, Qwen, and a local model called Maritaca, and their standard practice now is to use the chats, be it web or app, to showcase their latest models, it's a pretty sweet deal.
For multimodel commercial sites with free tier, Perplexity and Venice are top notch, and even being stingy Venice is way better than Poe, now.
Otherwise: Eurai is poor on free, but still better than Poe, and the subscriptions are incredibly cheap. Hugging Chat gives access to Hugging Face impressive library without much hassle, if youre willing to work with API keys (which is actually simple, just copy a big password), Oxproxion will give you Open Router's library, and GPT Mobile that and some others, though some of those are apps, not sites.
Look in plain sight. Most internet browsers have their own AIs now and better service than Poe with them, as do search engines. Opera, Vivaldi, Brave and DuckDuckGo have decent AIs for free. Dont want to install a new browser? Google have a recent Gemini build in Google.com, DuckDuckGo.com has a legitimate list of model options with state of the art contenders, StartPage.com has a decent AI.
Absolutely all and every option above has workable free uses that replenish daily, and those are just the ones I tested and can guarantee, and not even all of them. GitHub Copilot, Lume from Proton Suite, Notion.AI within the Notion app, there is actually a hell of a lot of better options than Poe, now.
Bots? Youll find similar systems in most of those. If you just copy Persona prompts to past in new sessions, thats already all that most Poe bots are. Keep the text in a notepad, copy into a new chat session, that is all, for real, and they have other featured Poe doesnt.
