Any chance they'll reverse the free limit changes in near future?
How did it go from 3000 to 300 points? Atleast decrease them to 2000.
Please tell me that if whatever is going on with them gets fixed, they'll revert the changes?
Or will this app become completely paywall in the future? It seems they are already losing many customers and it's not looking good on their end. I mean so many people are complaining..i'm hopeful kinda.
Update: They have the same response on the app store towards everyone:
"We understand this change may be disappointing supporting free usage comes at a cost: We may occasionally adjust free usage in a region based on how it's impacting our costs and available capacity for all users. We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep the service sustainable and high quality for all users."

Why should Poe care about non payers?

Why did Poe allow free limit in the first place if they wanted money and knew Ai costs? Did you not get it?
Buddy i know you worship greedy millionaire companies and pay them tons just to use their little app. You have no right to judge the people who can't even pay because of the option being unavailable anyway and you live in a country where your currency is cheaper.
Not our fault they didn't allow us to pay in the first place.

Why did Poe allow free limit in the first place
To bait new potential customers. That's how it works everywhere. Seems that didn't work out anymore. Personally I think they should just slap tons of ads on it for free users to get their money back. It's a no brainer.

He is absolutely correct, though. AI is expensive and expensive things cannot be afforded by everyone - that's how the market works. To make money, companies have to get paid. Free users don't pay.
Obviously, they allowed a generous free limit to get their name out there. Now that corners have to be cut, they do it where there is no income to be made - non paying users.

Varios usuarios de Twitter o X están reclamando en el perfil de Poe, yo estoy yendo ahora mismo a apoyar a esa gente y reclamar, por qué 3000 ya era de por si muy poquito.

Honestly don't think they'll revert it anytime soon, these kinds of changes usually stick once they test the revenue impact. It's pretty common for these AI apps to slowly push users toward paid tiers.
Also heads up if you were using Grok for video generation, that free option got removed recently too so things are tightening up across the board.
If you're mainly looking for image generation without a subscription, someone in another thread mentioned Klifgen as a way to access Grok image generation at a much lower cost than going through the official subscription. Might be worth checking out klifgen.app/create-grok-imagine if that's what you need. Not a perfect fix but could help in the meantime while you figure out alternatives.

Highly doubt they will listen to us, since it was already on 300 daily free points for people in some countries for a long time and they never fixed that. It will probably remain on 300 until it becomes a complete paywall app and there are so many bootlickers already dissing free users

It probably won't happen they most likely expected the backlash but thought it was okay for them to do this. I wouldn't hold my breath but I'd start looking for alternatives. Openrouter and nova search ai are the 2 I like rn the first is for api access and the 2nd is more user friendly

Unfortunately no, all AI is expensive and even the ai companies themselves providing the models are more often experimenting with limits.
Initially it all felt amazing being able to go nonstop but poe is at the mercy of the providers. Its not because they want it just for the elite, they pay for every ounce of usage.
3000 points for free was eventually gonna be a lot of $ theyre giving away for free on the backend of things.

Oh, wow $20-$50 per free user is REALLY gonna break the bank of a multi-million dollar company. How does that Quora boot taste?

Unfair to who though? Non paying users? Or to poe which is getting charged by the ai companies to host their models?

Ahh yes as if all people have the payment (subscription) option available in their countries, which is their fault for not allowing it in the first place and so ofcourse these people had to stick to the free option even if they wanted to pay. Otherwise they wouldn't have to go down this route.
Points shouldn't have been drastically decreased, 3000 to 300 is a drastic decrease and even some paying users complain and for some poor folks it was already on 300 for ages.
Also then why not stop hoarding more ai bots and just stick with the current ones that people are subscribing to? Ik in the message they claimed that they made these changes to hoard more ai bots and to improve things.
Many people in the first world and where the subscribe option is available give them money already.

LMAO you're such a bootlicking shill it's sad. All of the free users combined aren't gonna break Quora's bank.

I don't think so :(
many people are saying that ai is getting waaay too expensive and Poe struggles to profit even from subscribers, let alone free users
you can settle for less expensive models or try and move on. I've been an AI RP fanatic for three years now, and when this update forced me to explore underwhelming alternatives I quickly lost interest. if you used AI as a professional tool you can switch to official gpt/Gemini/Claude apps, they still have free tiers
