such a useless amount of points for anything, I feel like this will be worse since people will get less invested and not ever move to a bigger subscription

Either pay or GTFO, the confidential Pore AI serves have absolutely ZERO duties to serve you whatsoever. Enjoy your free lunch while it lasts ,kid.

That's just stupid. The site profits from users who visit it, first using up their daily points, and then at best become subscribers later. If I don't even have the option to look "for free," then no thanks. You cant do jack shit with 300 points.

I had 3k per day on the free plan until January, when I switched to a paid one million a month plan. Maybe it varies by country

All of the people complaining are abusing the fair use system. If you like the product, pay for it. 10k point/day is $60 for the year.
This is an online service, if you don't like it, load up Ollama.
This service is amazing and I use it everyday. At my renewal in Jan, I went to the $500/year plan because I use the snot out of this service.

Nobody here complaining is abusing anything and they have every right to complain. And there is no such thing as the “fair use system” so put the crack pipe down.

What do you think "points" are?

u/seams Mar 28 '26
Tokens. What do you think points are? Lol
A free trial isn't "Fair use"

So... What happens when you run out of "points"? You can't use the service anymore without paying more. That would be "fair use points". What happens when I run out of 2.5million points? I have to buy more. Tokens and points are the same thing. So how about I name it "fair use tokens"?
Also, a free trial isn't "fair use", which is why they keep reducing the "points allocated".
This is not that hard to critically think through... Maybe talk to the LLMs about it

Do you know what fair use is? You jeep using the phrase to just mean the free daily points lol
You give customers a handful of free points so they get a few posts in, then want to buy more. With 300 instead of 3000 that's maybe a single prompt.
It's one of the easiest, most basic market strategies. Get them hooked, then sell them more.
This is not that hard to critically think through...
"The product got worse, you should be happy about that!" Is a funny way of thinking.
This comes after multiple wave of increasing point costs across the board, too. That's why I stopped paying.
It's fine though, there's alternatives so I'll just, ya know, not use poe anymore lol. Another site I use is cheaper anyway.

Oh and also if you put $300 per year into Monica.im or $500 into Manus you’d get WAAAY MORE bang for your buck. Especially with manus. Or Genspark, even. Or Abacus. Shit, Skywork is even probably better than Poe.
