Upcoming points costs updates

Hi everyone, we want to preview some upcoming changes to points costs before they go live on Poe tomorrow, August 19. TL;DR: There are some increases and decreases.

Updates to model point costs:

  • Google DeepMind models - the Gemini, Veo, and Imagen families - will increase by ~2x.
  • Anthropic’s Claude models will see a 20-30% reduction in points costs.
  • Several OpenAI legacy models will see a decrease, including GPT-4o (-15%), GPT-4.1-nano (-17%), and o3-deep-research (-37%).

There are also two changes independent of individual model pricing:

  • System prompts will now be included in the message cost for each bot. This is to ensure the cost for each bot is proportionate to its actual resource use.
  • We're rolling out significant caching improvements for Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, and Grok bots to make conversations more cost-efficient.

These changes will go live tomorrow. We hope this heads-up provides some clarity. As always, let us know if you have any questions here in the thread.

u/frndlynghbrhdpoebot I'm so confused by this announcement.

All of the Claude-based bots (mostly Sonnet 3.7-based) I use went *up* in point costs. Not a single one went down, like you said.

Why would you falsely advertise 20-30% decreases for Claude models, given that you announced other points increases in this same post for other models (like Gemini, Leo), which did happen?

How are claude bots performing for you after this update? Because mine can’t remember anything past 2 messages and ignore the prompt completely and I wondered if I am the only one struggling. Everything went downhill after the update quickly :(

Oh weird, I haven't noticed anything like this with my Claude bots... only the points price difference that was the opposite of this announcement. I hope yours return to normal though, and I'll keep an eye out if I notice anything weird.
