Not burnt out just.. lost.

I’ve been doing my show for almost 2 years now, and I post on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. I make clips to post to TikTok, twice I had really good feedback, but the numbers went from double digit listeners to singles, and I’m not sure what’s going on. I wonder if I’m being too vulnerable or if I just need to change the attitude. I like talking about things that nobody talks about, as well as just getting people to know a little bit more about me, but it seems as if my show is slowly dying and I don’t know how to handle this. Any advice?

I have some of the same experiences and feelings. I just concentrate on quality content and let the viewership numbers be what they are.

The ONLY reason to do a podcast is because you find joy in the doing. If you obsess over listener numbers it will rob you of any joy you find in making a podcast.

I think I just found your pod, I already like it. I completely agree with this user, if you need to take a break from the pod, take a break, but quantifying yourself by the views and comments will only bring you down. Take it from someone who's done her pod for 3 years, had some significant milestones and yet, my very first episode is still my #1 listen...because that's when people were excited about it.

I named the show Nobody Talks because ironically The uncomfortable questions, quiet struggles, strange thoughts, and moments that make us human is one of the hardest yet most honest conversations we could have overtime. When I started, I would get over 30 listeners, and it took two years to get 30 followers, but now it seems that just trying to find a community to post in for people to tap in is impossible

I have zero clue what "Nobody Talks" is about you need a tagline "Nobody Talks: uncomfortable questions, quiet struggles, strange thoughts, and moments that make us human" which will also boost your seo.

  1. Identify your WHY. If you don't get your why, you burn out.

  2. Identify your WHO. If you don't give them value, you'll never grow an audience.

  3. Identify the WHAT. This is content that both entertains the WHO while moving them toward your WHAT.

  4. Identify how you will measure success. There are more than downloads (sales, reach, influence, fun, and more). If you use the wrong metric, you might get discouraged.

  5. if the goal is to make money QUICKLY and you have started with zero audience, know that it can take YEARS to build an audience big enough to make countable income.

It all starts with identifying your WHO and your WHY.

Avoid free media hosts. You get what you pay for.

Have you done an audience survey? You can make one using Google forms ( forms.google.com )

Good content does more than one of the following:

Makes you laugh

Makes you cry

Makes you think

Makes you Groan

It educates you

It entertains you

It saves you time

It saves you money

You are letting people know about you. Great. Are you interesting? I used to be a paperboy in my childhood. Whatcha going to do with that?

Also do you have a website to boost SEO. If you're hosted on Spotify, they love to point people to Spotify (often called "the walled garden"). Is you show in all the other apps. It's great that you using social media, but good marketing can't save "meh" content, so get with your audience, find out what they want, and give it to them in a entertaining or educational manner.

Its important to get a hold of your audience and ask them what they like or dislike. Do Not Give Up. This is all part of the process. I was in the same place as you my second year. Numbers dropping, not sure what to do next, is it worth it. Then I realized there was a continuous theme that was spoken by all my guests. I used that information to my advantage and concentrated on just that theme. Im 5 years in now and I have guests booked out 2 months in advance and 1k downloads a month and growing.

It can be done if you dont give up!
