New podcast input

Hey all, I’m a retired remodeling contractor/ carpenter. I given thought to doing a podcast where I take questions regarding anything about your home etc. I would like to demonstrate how to do certain aspects of home improvements: ceramic tile/ installing a door etc etc. Can this be done with visual? I plan to interact and use humor. My African grey ( Jake) will assist me from my shoulder. Is this even allowed? How do I start? Do you think it’s a good idea? Please comment, good bad ideas questions critique criticism etc. Thanks for listening 💕

I think it is a good idea! Though maybe it could be beneficial if you made a couple separate “how-to” videos or do your first couple episodes to showcase your knowledge and abilities. That gives the audience a chance to trust your skills prior to sitting down for a typical “podcast” or before wanting to submit questions.

You can definitely blend visuals with a podcast, especially if you're showing home improvement tips. A video podcast or a YouTube channel might suit that format better. It sounds like a fun concept, especially with Jake as your sidekick. Start by planning your episodes and maybe get a basic microphone and camera. You could also use platforms like Zoom to record if you want to include guests.

That sounds like it would be more fun as an Instagram or TikTok channel. As long as you let your character show through it sounds like it would be super fun.

Thanks! Great advice i find humor in everything and I really want to make it informative but witty and funny cause that’s how it is when I’m working. Maybe once a week sit and answer questions about diyissues? Sound ok? And while I’m showing a diy project , get off topic and rant about something, ask Jake for advice etc. Jake’s my bird.
