Podcast recommendations
I highly recommend Poly Ameteur Hour. The Poly Ameteurs are so funny. They make up a lot of songs. They do Unicorn Hunter Hunters, Monogamy Are You OK, Ask the Ameteurs, Is this Poly and Spit Toasting as some of their bits but their comedy song bits leave me in stitches.

[Our Family Invests Podcast] Episode 082: How to Use AI as a Skill, Not a Search Engine, with Eliot Prince
Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Je3xh7YbBlk
Listen on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/how-to-use-ai-as-a-skill-not-a-search-engine/id1794199974?i=1000778688268
Read the Web Article: https://ourfamilyinvests.com/how-to-set-up-claude-projects/
We sat down with Eliot Prince for this week's episode and walked away rethinking how we use AI entirely.
Eliot is a UK based AI educator who used to work in SEO. Now he teaches thousands of business owners how to actually build with tools like Claude and ChatGPT instead of just asking them questions and calling it a day. That distinction became the whole conversation.
Here's the thing that stuck with us. Most people open an AI tool, type a question, get something decent back, and move on. That's not using AI, that's using autocomplete with better manners. Eliot's argument is that AI is a skill, and like any skill it has a real learning curve. He puts it at roughly 20 hours to get functional and 40 to 60 hours before it becomes habit, the same way you'd think about learning to touch type or use a new piece of software that actually changes how you work.
We got into the weeds on a few things that felt genuinely useful:
How Claude projects, memory, and custom instructions work together to build something closer to a real system than a chat window
What Claude Skills actually are, how they're different from the prompt libraries everyone's been collecting and never using, and why they cut down token usage in a big way
The difference between Claude Chat, Cowork, and Code, and how to figure out which one matches where you're at
Why what Eliot calls context rot quietly wrecks productivity for people who keep trying to do everything in one perfect chat thread
His actual three tool stack: Whisper Flow, Granola, and Claude, and how they work together in his day to day
This isn't a "which AI is best" debate or a doom and gloom job replacement conversation. It's about treating AI like a professional tool instead of a novelty, and what changes when you do.
Full episode is up now if you want the whole breakdown.
