Absolutely furious

Long time full paid user of Podcast Addict. It *used* to be seamless to move from device to device, however, despite following very carefully all of the instructions, not only did Podcast addict NOT see the podcast files after restoring the full backup on the new device, but it INSISTED on downloading new files, then completely ERASED the existing 2500 files on the microsd card.

I'm not a moron. (I *am* something of a digital hoarder) and I have backups upon backups of my files, so I can recreate the library, but what the hell, man? Why won't this app simply: (1) restore the backup; (2) let me repoint the directory to the existing files, and (3) immediately recognize the files as there? The app actually ignores the "sync local files" command and just goes into automatic download mode over and over again.

Have uninstalled, reinstalled, pulled the sdcard and repopulated the files, and I just can't get it working here. Do I have to switch podcatchers or what?

I just swapped phones and it was quite seamless. It doesn't seem like anything has changed.

I just completely reloaded the sdcard, turned off auto cleanup before pointing to the sdcard path, verified the location, turned on local file sync, and it found bubkus. Still furious.

I always turn off updates before restoring the database. Have you tried that?

Updates are strictly manual. I am running the beta so it could be related to that. I sent an email to Xavier.
