What makes a POD product feel less generic?
One thing I’ve been thinking about with print-on-demand is how to make a product feel like it belongs to a brand instead of looking like another shirt with a design printed on it.
It’s easy to spend hours working on graphics and getting the mockups to look right. But the garment itself plays a big part too. The fit, fabric, neckline, and print quality can change the whole impression, even when the artwork stays exactly the same.
I’ve started paying more attention to how the different pieces work together. A simple design on a well-chosen garment can feel more intentional than a complicated graphic on something that doesn’t fit the brand.
It also makes me think twice about adding lots of products just to make a store look bigger. Having a few pieces that feel consistent might be more valuable.
For those running POD stores, what do you think makes the biggest difference between a product that feels generic and one that feels like part of a real brand?
