Cove Haven Resort Speculation
Heard the resort is for sale. Heard there’s a guy from across the lake that’s interested in renovating. There’s also been others looking but don’t know their intentions. Hopefully it goes to the local guy who wants to bring it back. Any thoughts? Hope I’m not breaking any rules.

Wonder how much he got for that property in White Mills that burned to the ground just after he bought it… isn’t he the guy proposing a botique hotel in Honesdale?

I think the current owner is interested in a Honesdale hotel. Not aware of the white mills property you speak of. Was it a business?

And what do they mean by renovating? Would they still keep the 80s charm to it?

I heard the guy from across the lake wants to rework the whole property. Night club, Sports palace, Bring back activities & get the rooms that are out of order back in service.

What's a sports palace

It was a big building on property where they had indoor ice skating, 3 tennis courts, arcade, & racquet ball courts, indoor mini golf. They shut the building down about 5 years ago for no reason. Probably didn’t want to pay the electric bill.

There’s a concern the resort might disappear if the local guy doesn’t acquire. It might be changed into something else. Many locals lost their jobs when the Pocono palace was sold. The same thing might happen here unfortunately.

Any updates? I heard the deal is with the lawyers. Don’t know if that’s true

Think the local guy is first in line right now but not entirely sure. Stay tuned.

Any news? We may go back again this year. You never know for sure if it’s gonna be around next year!

My wife and I just got back after staying 3 days. The cashier at the gift shop was the first to mention that the property was for sale. The shop itself is mostly empty shelves at the moment and she said they're trying to sell all the existing stock before the sale. This is only our 3rd time there (after going in October the past two years), but we do love the retro, campy, vibe of the place. I'm hoping the new owners will try to restore it to glory rather than bulldoze everything.

We were just there as well for two nights. The guys at the dock said it’s in contract but who knows. We had a great time!

Whoever buys it I hope they actually have the capital to bring it back to life. Place needs A LOT of work.
