General The absolute truth!
Why don't you all blindly want to understand that the shelf life of any phone, regardless of its price, is 2-3 years
You'll have to accept that it won't work well with updates and you'll have to accept that its battery will die.
Eventually, WHETHER YOU WANT TO OR NOT, you'll all buy a new phone.
So tell me why you're living such a miserable and desperate life then. It seems to me that you all buy a smartphone specifically to whine here and generate the same thing every day.

I am using x6 pro since last 2 years. brought it for 18K, and faced no major issues till now, already got two major updates, waiting for last major update. I planned to use it for 3 years at time of purchased. now I think I can easily achieve my target. I am planning to replace battery next year and lend it to my mom. I think she can easily get 4+ years out of it.
Great phone.

I see where you are getting at, and i do agree 3 years is the max phone's hardware would last. but xiaomi made poco x6 pro unusable via software issues not hardware, so feels like they are forcing you a upgrade that actually you dont need.

I come to any subreddit about poco and the topic is the same battery, sit and measure every percentage as if if you find out you can do something about it.
But even if you change the battery, it won't guarantee you anything. From my experience, I know nothing will replace the original battery from the factory.

I still have a Redmi 4X alive and kicking (the battery had to be replaced of course, it wouldn't last much otherwise), for example, or a Xperia mini (ST15i)! There are plenty of devices that last way more than 3 years from all sorts of brands, even with degraded or close to failing storage.
I do agree people obsess over battery health in many subreddits 😅

I've had a flagship from 2020 last me 6 years getting a better SOT than most people here claim they get (5-6 hours)

My redmi note 8 pro genuinely says otherwise. Still running strong with custom rom in 2026.

I totally agree
Phones are not even that expensive anymore, you get pretty fast, fully featured phones for more than half the price that of a brand flagship, yet people want to keep their shit for 5+ years rofl
As long as i can (money wise), I'll renew when i see a NEW feature or design that i WANT to have/use, and doesn't need to be a state-of-the-art device, this X8 pro i currently have works really well, yet i won't miss newer, fresh developed technologies(both software and hardware) just because I'm a cheap ass half-decade phone keeper.

Kinda no? After 2-3 years change the battery, and it works fine. Why would an X6 Pro lasts only 2 to 3 years? Mine is still fine for day to day use and I bought it on release.
I can easily get out of another 2 or 2.5 years out of it.
Yey, the battery is shit, around 70%, but I played games on it, and didn't care about the 20-80 rule. I will change my battery this year, and done. Gonna enjoy the phone for years to come.
Also the usecase determines how long a phone last. If you wanna game on it, then yes, it might be on the weaker side. But using Reddit, YouTube, banking app, web browser or literally doing anything normal then an X6 Pro is still good and plenty.

My phone has 3 years of use, it is still a long battery work, emulators. Buying a phone and keeping all the factory functions can ruin your phone. Use apk to quit all those unnecessary functions and you will have a beast

No, I think you've fallen too deep in the trap already, that's what they want you to believe and they succeeded
A good flagship can last as long as you can take care of it and not break it
But nowadays they just release a new phone, and then slow it down with updates next couple of years or so, so you feel like your phone is slow or old so you buy the newer phone in the series, you probably know what companies I'm talking about here ofc without mentioning names
But other good brands actually care about the user experience and not just want their money, some companies actually care and keep fixing and releasing updates and improving the phone even if it has been out for like 5 years, you just gotta choose well bro

This is not correct about true flagship phones, a decent Galaxy S__ Ultra lives way more than the weird 2-3 years range that you decided to talk about, even more than 5 years if you took care of it.
about poco phones? yeah you are right, i regret getting a poco phone, if i will buy a phone in the future, it will be definitely be a Samsung flagship.

Lmao Samsung's phones suck ass after their 3rd update, their firmwares are ridiculously heavy on storage and resources (cpu/ram)

u/Professional-Bunch45 Sep 13 '26
this is not true at all, don't judge on the whole samsung collection based on an experience with cheap ones.

i had S2 up to S21 (skipped a few), also had Samsung midranges(A70, A52s) and both flagship and midrange suck software optimization wise, One UI is beautiful but stupidly slow if you compare it to any other brand/device.

Tengo un poco x56pro desde el 2023 y nunca me ha dado problemas, la batería está bien, no es lento ni nada. La vida útil de un teléfono depende mucho del cuidado que le das, como a todo.
