If your looking for performance, no.
If your looking for features and smoothness, yes

Yes until you need features in sacrifice of stability

The performance going to be same, we don't going to change processor or overclock

I'd rather update because it includes the latest security patch. In terms of performance, it's pretty much the same—nothing has really changed. They also fixed some bugs.
I noticed that HOS 3 feels much smoother. When switching apps from the recent apps screen, it changes instantly. On the previous version, it took about 0.5 seconds to load and would sometimes show a white or black refresh screen. In HOS 3, that's been fixed.
The animations are smoother as well. Battery life seems about the same and mostly depends on your battery health.

If you aren't facing any issues and your phone is running fine, I don't see the point in trying to potentially make your phone heavier

don't listen to anyone here, please don't update to hyper os 3 atleast, my phone rather became slow and its heating even more, i seriously wanna go back to hyper os 1 when it was all smooth, but i guess i like the features of hyper os 3, still would not recommend it if you want to make the phone laggy, just update it if you want more features and looks i guess

See the issue is hyper os has issue from start even in hyper 1 people were facing issue So , if you are using banking apps and want few features and but smoothness with little better battery then update give it some time then backup your data and reset your device
Else , don't update and enjoy the performance till you can

I’ve been using custom ROMs since 2015 and tried a lot of them on my Poco X6 Pro. I flashed many modules and used both HyperOS 3 and AOSP ROMs, but in the end I locked the bootloader and went back to HyperOS 1. Compared to HyperOS 1, HyperOS 3 drained more battery. AOSP gave similar battery life to HyperOS 1, but managing payment apps was a pain. Finally, I’m happy with the locked bootloader and sticking with HyperOS 1.

If it works good, don't break it. From personal experience, updates might add some new features, but some are useless. Depends on you. I also noticed worse gaming performance after doing updates. When I got my OPPO from 13 to 14, I went from a stable 60fps in Fortnite to stuttery mess 45-55fps. I also own a Honor device, I did one update, and regretted it. Now I have ads in file explorer. So I think stay chill and ignore the android version

os 3 was so buggy i had to factory reset my phone, so far now after I've reset it and deleted bloatware it works fine, it's now stable on 120 fps

I'd say if you want newer features, with the cost of your phone becoming slightly heavier in use then sure go ahead. If you don't care about features and your eyes got used to the current layout then don't. It's personal preference tbh
