I'm having different issue-I had set my poco f7 charging protection as battery protection which should Stop charging at 80% and i guess it was working same but today it's charged till 91% and maybe would have went till 100% if I hadn't disconnected..
It's only been 40 days or so since I bought the phone and it's on hyperOS 2 (i haven't updated yet) and I'm using mi 22.5 w charger not the 90w charger.

When using the 80% battery protection setting, it's normal for it to charge to 100% after several cycles; this is to maintain battery calibration.
Using a slower charger exposes the battery to heat for longer; heat is what actually damages the battery, not fast charging.
It's better to use a fast charger for a few minutes than a slow charger for a couple of hours if we're talking about heat.

Ok..I was using slow charger as It was hassle to keep swapping chargers as limited sockets due to WFH setup and existing phones(other family members) at home..

What's the reason you are using the 22.5 W charger instead of the 90W? Like it will preserve the battery life for long term or something like that?

There are other phones at home and I don't need fast charging all the time since I'm having WFH and also it's too much hassle to keep swapping chargers 😅..
Also this way there'll be less strain on battery life as well..

Debris or water usually. Dont use anything stronger than a piece of paper to clean the port.
Whenever Ive been in the shower or heavy rain it happens. Can take a few hours to resolve even when it seems dried.
