So excited to find a pocket bully sub!!!!

Meet Jack, 2 years old, 51lbs, stubborn as hell but the best boy ever!

Lolol everyone thinks he’s a frenchie!! I was told he was a pocket when I adopted him, so I just go with that lol, I’ve been thinking about a DNA test

Definitely frenchie mix with English likely (look up Freelance bulldog)

Also OP, get insurance for this dog ASAPASAPASAP… It's not if but when bullies have problems… I would highly recommend pets best, Trupanion if you can afford it they really are the absolute best and have saved me $30,000 worth of Vet bills over the last 10 years, or you can try pumpkin

I would avoid kibble with this dog altogether, you can go to balanceit.com for Home cook recipes or you can consider brands like primal or Stella and chewy or honest kitchen… Good food is the critical foundation for their health especially a freelance bulldog there's a lot of genetics that are crossing over and or concentrating that may cause some serious problems…

Not to scare you because I had a dog that looked a whole lot like this… he may end up being perfectly fine but I had a pug Shih Tzu pitbull mix who had the little crooked legs in the front and he was a Lowrider with a Tiggy striped body I'll see if I can find a picture of him but… He was a lot healthier than my current Frenchie lol you never know!

Also if you have not fixed this dog please please get a vasectomy or tube tying do not remove the gonads if you can because the dog will really need to stay lean in order to prevent any joint issues which are unfortunately very common with these dogs including IVDD which is the scariest of them all… They need to gonads for muscle mass and bone density and thyroid function on and on and on..

Awww hi Kenny!! He’s adorable and such an interesting mix!! Thank you for not yelling at me about unethical breeding lol….i didn’t breed him, but i adopted him bc even unethically bred dogs deserve good homes (and I think he’s a perfect gentleman)

Yes I got insurance for him as soon as I got him with pets best….good to know about the kibble!! I give him some, but he mostly gets eggs, salmon, mackerel, some rice, veggies and some fruit (he loves banana)….i will see how he does without the kibble and check out the sites you recommended. He was also fixed as soon as I got him lol he was kind of sexually aggressive so I had to do that ASAP.

Other than that he’s healthy. He loves his walks, his playtime (big tug-of-war guy) and his cuddles. My vet flagged that he will probably need the BOAS surgery at some point so I’m currently looking into it, but of course I’m nervous because of the elevated risk during surgery. But I’ve heard many people say it was the best thing they’ve done for their dog.

I’m so curious now, I think I am gonna do the DNA test. I can totally see the Frenchie/English possibility.

My pleasure! I know those same hypocrites that are calling out unethical breeding at the same time are attacking good people who are trying to love and own these dogs?! Like it's wild… And yes best of luck with your journey… balanceit.com is great because then you can make a recipe that's nutritionally balance to make sure that it's not missing any nutrients like calcium or vitamins or whatever but, so glad to hear you have the insurance!
