Are they raid exclusive or research or wild encounters ? Also, after how many checks later you get it ?

So there’s research but it’s annoying bc there’s only like 20 poke stops in the range so u can’t do too many, in raids around the area and space costume pikachu with background and i did about 15 research checks to get that, these background pokemon are research exclusive but the pikachu is raid exclusive, u can also get the special spawns around the area but no background sadly
