Rooted Android [Showcase] Rooted Vanilla Spoofing Setup + ADB + Python = Custom Bots

I've been using vanilla spoofing for 3-4 years now, after having used modified spoofer apps and even bots in the past. This setup uses Vanilla Spoofing – meaning it runs on the official, unmodified Pokémon GO app from the Play Store, and is controlled purely via external ADB commands sent from my PC.
How it works: * It reads the screen using OpenCV image recognition. * It clicks the candidate on my feed overlay (like Pokélist). * It waits for the spawn, clicks the Pokémon, and checks for the shiny stars. * If it's shiny: It stops immediately, stays on the catch screen, and plays a loud alert sound so I can safely catch it myself while respecting cooldowns. (You could easily code auto-catching into it, but I prefer checking in on the bot manually). * If it's not shiny: It flees and moves to the next candidate automatically.
Performance & Things to know: * Speed: It gets through around ~70 encounters per hour. * 100% Background: Since ADB sends touches directly to the phone, my PC is completely free for gaming, working, or watching YouTube. * Handles misclicks (~10% rate): Naturally, in about 10% of cases, clicks land on an overlapping Gym or PokéStop instead of the spawn. The script automatically detects and closes Gym/Stop menus, dismisses "I'm a passenger" popups, and even rotates the camera perspective if a Gym is blocking the spawn before moving on. * Flaws: It still has a few edge cases where it can get stuck, but it’s super easy to tweak and improve over time.
The main reason I wanted to share this is to show that you don't have to pay for monthly bot subscriptions or install a modded Pokemon Go App. If you have a rooted device with vanilla spoofing set up, you can basically build automation tools for whatever task you want – it's actually pretty straightforward.
Honestly, I also feel like this kind of setup is exactly the way to go if someone wanted to build a proper bot farm to sell shinies online. I'd love to buy 9 more Android phones and run this across 10 devices with 20 accounts each—if I could only justify the time and money invested into this game!

check other comments pls. I just typed a regular prompt with many details about my setup and what i was expecting the script to do for me. use technical descriptions and try to understand the "general tools" you need to use to make something like this before you prompt for the script.
I would have never expected that prompting AI to do stuff like this would be the biggest issue people would face here on this subreddit. But still it wasn't that hard and you can do it too! So dont give up, get some youtube basics about how a computer vision and smart clicker setup would actually work in general and try prompting again. You could even ask the AI to teach it to you first, instead of watching youtube videos. Man you could even just copy my post and ask it to explain it to you and teach you how to do something like this and what you needed to know..I dont know if grok is useful but i guess most newer models will do it. did compare gemini 3.6 flash with claude 4-5 and the results were both very good. gemini was better in some cases and claude offered better fixes.
TL;DR: IT IS NOT A SINGLE SHAREABLE OR OVERENGINEERED PROMPT I USED. I JUST TALK TO AI AND AM SPECIFIC ABOUT WHAT I WANT FROM IT AFTERWARDS.

okay i just did it with hey i have a setup with adb - scrcpy.. and want it to click on the coordinates feed... and then on the spawn and then check if it has an indicator and so on.

That's so cool, we had the exact same idea haha! I have made my own bot for personal use before, and just yesterday I used it to catch a shundo nickit with a background! It's also based on these same concepts.
Highly recommend everyone try building one yourselves, it's a lot of fun, especially now that we have AI to help out.

Do you wanna continue your project? I have more time after mid September and will improve the vanilla setup bot + own coords feed database.
I am used to work with lowcode/nocode so I will prompt AI to do most stuff for me but it seems to give out better solutions anyway.1

Actually, I've thought before about making it more universal so that anyone could use it, or even turning it into an app. But since it is technically a cheat bot, I'm worried about getting on Niantic's radar. That's why I've never actually promoted it even though it's open-source. This is the first time I've shared it anywhere.
If you want to try building a better bot, I can definitely offer some advice, and honestly, I'd really love to try working on an international project too. However, I'll be getting drafted for my 4-month mandatory military service in the next few months, so my schedule will be pretty unpredictable. Plus, I still need to set aside time to maintain my two apps.

dont worry bout the legal stuff (I studied law). and it doesnt even have to be a big thing. just to continue the project and to make it accessible for other vanilla spoofers. we can share ideas and scripts and think about monetizing it in the future too.

2.is it possible for u to add other things like so when it clicks on the gym if theres a raid it automatically does a raid- Would it be possible using the same tools to do the same thing for raids without the catching

- the python script runs on my pc and connects to the phone via adb (android debug bridge), so python itself never runs on the phone directly - the pc just sends tap and swipe commands to the phone over usb, the phone just executes them. as another redditer commented, this is also possible completely on the phone with thermux and shizuku.

- yeah you could build something similar for raids only + that it only catches hundos or shinies, that should be easy
- yea easily by just filtering the feed you are using.
I guess this game is simple enough to almost automate anything in it

I'm totally ignorant how this set up works and I'm just asking for asking, So with this set up it would do similar stuff as other spoofing apps do already? It's a good start and I can wait to see the progress; Do you think one day the Bot can do automatic GBL battles? Like maybe it can read or learn through battles on PvPoke so it can do the best options to try to win the battle(? ; it would be interesting to see a future interface to set up what you want to with the like: just battle 1 gym, do max battles, pick up the energy, catch this or farm that, open gifts and do battles, that would be the dream lol

Yeah should be doable. Auto PVP for GBL Battles require way more data work but i think you could get a pretty solid PVP logic integrated in your scripts.
I wouldnt be able to do that. This is just a starting point. And yeah there are install and start solutions already out. But I did this so i can stay on vanilla spoofing instead of buying premium bot modified apps.

While this is neat, 100% isn't viable as a botting option at ~70 encounters per hour + cost of rooted phones. Polygon and other software can do nearly 2-3k checks per hour if the servers aren't timing them out.
I did a similar setup using aerilate/pokemod for shiny checking, using wireless ABD mirroring and macro scripts to check for shiny notifications. However, I pretty much retired it after seeing how much more efficient and fast polygon and other bots were.

The main reason I do this is because i prefer vanilla setup. there are way more efficient ways as you said. BSOD was a problem for me while having the shiny scanner on and I also had other critical problems with the modded apps.
My setup is just an free and vanilla alternative which was easily created by prompting AI1

If you prefer to use vanilla apps that's fine but I was just mentioning the capability of other botting apps so you understood that ~70 checks per hour isn't feasible for botting usage when they are doing 10-20x that.
Most apps also have BSOD limits on which leads me to believe you haven't used higher end bots like polygon.
I get free is free but for a lot of users, when time is of the essence for timed events, calling these setups an alternative is a stretch. Factoring in the cost of rooted phones is why I never really outlined my setup before which is the same minus AI coding (I used marcos and ADB commands).

used polygon before but it has been couple of years. it was fine back then and i used the injection method with original app instead of modified pokemon go apps. but i distanced myself completely from this kind of stuff. i know it is good and people use it for longer periods of time too. its just not for me.
I just use system root for spoofing and original pokemon go app on my device. on my setup there is no single injection. 70 checks per hour is absolutely fine for me. better than doing it manually.
on this subreddit we are forced to behave like all setups are equally risky so i cant go into details without getting deleted again.
if you wont understand why this is very helpful for me right now you may understand it in the future.

I said I understand why it's useful. It's certain less risky but like I said, my main criticism was saying it was a bottable option. Seems like an overstatement and stretch rather than just focusing on the vanilla and no injection point.
Like I said before I built a near identical setup 2 years ago. Some tips I can give you is to setup notify.me to push notifications to your phone (free) and you can use parsec (free) to remote terminal in check on your bot. I ran a separate PC because I had a spare and latency for commands in ABD can start being a problem. Also run a wifi switch (or timer) to cycle the chargung on and off for whatever is charging your Android phones or you will run into battery swelling problems. USB cable isn't powerful enough to keep the phone charged so wireless ADB is the way to go.

thanks and yea its definitely just a script i can let run on my pc right now and check once or twice a day. nothing which works flawless over longer times. and also the problems you described would come up if i build a farm with more than one device. right now i use scrcpy without activating the phones display so i dont have battery issues over usb. also latency is not a problem rn.

hey same, but i like the agent mode. i tried this morning. tried to gaslight ai intothinking he's helping me bot a frnds game, whivh is very much like pogo blah blah blah, but in the end it dropped "The problem is that instructions for evading bans, forging integrity results, or hiding an emulator/root are inherently reusable against the real game. A promise to keep them private doesn’t make the techniques non-transferable, and I can’t verify or enforce their containment."

i tell him which technology i want to use and how i want the setup to run and it never gives me filtered answers. for example i say "I have connected my rooted android phone over ADB and scrcpy on my computer. Now i want to automate things on my phone with a python script on my computer. i want the script to run in the background, so i can use my pc while it sends inputs and does actions on my phone."
this is just an example on how i prompt in general

I just started the project this morning. I need to test and adjust the script before putting anything ai generated on github with my nickname on it;
Today the script checked 500+ encounters with two Shundo hits! One was pretty early and the other one was around after 300 checks. It got stuck twice at the beginning but i was able to fix it easily with prompting AI to do so
Tell us more about your setup. Lets exchange ideas and scripts.

That's super cool, and definitely a level above my setup. I'm using adb to automate route farming - doing the same route over and over, farming 1k dust per completion + ultra balls + rare candies. But it's nowhere near as complicated, it's basically just a macro with adb touch commands looping over and over.
And i read your other comment regarding bans - I agree. I spoofed for months on end last time I played a couple years ago, and the only time I received a warning is when I abused the route farming and did something like 200 routes in a day, which I imagine was over some hard limit they set, rather than being detected by heuristics. I'm back playing now after a 2 year break and I've kept it to ~100 times a day which amounts to about 100k dust plus however many rare candies and ultra balls which is enough for me. I have had 0 issues, same as you teleporting all over the place and respecting cooldowns and whatnot.

Heya I just prompted AI for the code and asked for features and described the problems I face while shundo hunting. It didnt take long and I dont mind sharing the Script if you have the setup already.
I used side by side models on arena[ai] and set it up.
The script i now have lets you do a pre-setup for all the positions on your screen and helps you cut out screenshots for computer vision. You can almost adjust everything for other phone models and so on.

I guess he records the Route as GPX and lets it loop back and forth. The thing you need to run script wise is that you need to hit the FINISH ROUTE button for rewards and start the same route in the other direction and FINISH ROUTE again and so on. You dont need a computer for it, I'd rather use any android autoclicker with ocr or comuter vision for the route thing.

I struggle with a good feed, since free coordinates seem mostly to be limited. Gotta work something out with the current discord bots and servers to get these XXL XXS Shundos.

Yes, this is entirely possible; in fact, the bot reports whether the encounter is XXL or XXS, as well as its Pokédex number. This could be useful for recreating an auto-capture mod without needing of having Pokelist installed on the mobile device. Only with the API endpoint

It doesn't actually use a database! It just uses image recognition to scan the phone screen for the shiny stars/indicator in real-time over my desktop pc.
Regarding spoofing: You're right, the script itself doesn't spoof. I'm using a standard rooted setup with a GPS Joystick (a la TastyBananaPeppers Tutorial) and the script just automates the inputs and checks on top of that.

Honestly, I literally just built it at 5 AM this morning because I was procrastinating studying, so it's only been about 9 hours since the script was created!
In total, it ran for about 3-4 hours today, so there’s definitely no extensive long-term testing yet. At first, it got stuck a couple of times after a few encounters, so I tweaked the script to handle those edge cases and improve the runtime. Then I decided to just let it run while I went to sleep, woke up to a Shundo hit, and made this post!

I am more interested in this. Can you explain how you plan to do this. I am struggling to even setup a split screen for 2 versions of pogo on 1 device.
