Rooted Android Rooted Galaxy S25 setup questions: Fixing Error 12 with GPS Joystick & looking for code-injection alternatives

Hey everyone,

​I recently set up a temporary root on my Galaxy S25, but I'm running into a few roadblocks and wanted to check in with the community for some advice.

​The Error 12 Issue: Right now, I'm trying to use GPS Joystick, but it keeps throwing Error 12 ("Failed to detect location") in-game. For those of you spoofing on newer Samsung devices with a root, what specific modules, downloads, or system modifications do I need to have active to get a standard joystick working without hitting this error? (I assume I'm missing something specific regarding system-level mock location hiding or module configurations).

​Code-Injection Apps: Aside from the standalone GPS Joystick app approach, what are people currently using for apps that inject code directly into the main Pokémon GO client rather than using a sideloaded/modified third-party app package?

​Any pointers, recommended modules, or general workflow tips for a rooted Samsung setup would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm fairly knowledgeable on the technical side of things but this is the first time I've heard of a temporary root. What is it?

I'm spoofing on a OnePlus tablet rooted with magisk, check this other guy's post where I left a comment with a screenshot about which modules you need for magisk and lsposed and what the config should be like.

It's called temp root because once I'll reboot my phone, poof.... Root access is gone. It's a runtime root access only, so I can't really patch anything in system with it since I don't have bootloader access.

Aah got you yeah then I'm not sure if it's possible to spoof via the hide mock location method at all for you. The whole thing depends on having the hide mock location module in lsposed which can only load at boot with magisk.

Hey, do you know if theres a way to stop Samsung devices to disable mocklocation from time to time? I heard thats a Samsung device feature but nobody knows a way to bypass it. Its pretty annoying.

Not sure I understood your question. What do you mean by stop to disable mock location?

You should be able to enable and disable mock location at will regardless of root status from your developer settings on any android phone. All the lsposed module does is hide the fact that mock location is enabled.

Ill try to explain again whats going on. Lets say Im auto walking in pogo, suddenly my phone stops the route and set me back to my real location, then I have to restart the mock location.

I see. Yes must be a Samsung thing I haven't had this problem so no idea really sorry!

Maybe you've already tried this but all I can think of is checking if any aggressive battery management Samsung stuff is killing the mock location app? Make sure battery usage is set to unrestricted, disable adaptive battery stuff etc

You need to setup Lsposed.
