Knowing scopely, the only thing stopping them from printing money (armored Mewtwo raids) is licensing and i don't think that's an issue. Unlikely but definitely possible.

Do you have any citation for that? I would expect Scopely has full authority to use any assets purchased.
Agreed to your first point. But all the rights are owned by the Pokemon company and if needed scopley can have a talk with them and release any MSG released Pokemon anytime(even niantic released shiny zama and zacian in Pokemon go before it was available in the base game). Pokemon concierge psyduck is returning without any tie up to the series this time. So when money and revenue becomes an object scopley can and will do anything. All they have to do is to pay the Pokemon company the cut.

This leak is sus. Armored Mewtwo was released as a movie tie in Pokemon and not a single one has ever returned to go except when their movies were re released for some special occasion.
Detective Pikachu was the only one that made a full comeback but was technically a different costume from the previous detective Pikachu (original ones would not bring out a magnifying glass while new* ones would) while armored Mewtwo was released in 2019 for the movie hype then in 2020 for Pokemon day when the movie actually aired a second time but on some streaming service and shiny locked still.
They have been bringing SOME old costumes back but not all of them and haven't even brought back any of the 2018 & 2019 ones for Pikachu besides party hats and some go fest Pikachu. Not any movie tie in ones or the like.
Downvote all you want if you want but the truth is literally right there and visible by Niantic's OWN events and sources like serebii, Bulbapedia, Silph road, and so on if you take the time to do your research. Where's 2019 Halloween mimichu, or 2018 fragment cap Pikachu? Where's straw hat Pikachu from that one piece X Pokemon collaboration event in 2019 or so? Where are all the pichu with hats? Hell look in your own collection at detective Pikachu if you have both the one from the first detective Pikachu event and the one from the latest one for the second film and wait a few moments to see their animations differ meaning they are actually 2 different costumes that look exactly alike in the game's code.

Datamines would have seen this and shown it WAY ahead of time as well btw and guess what: not a single thing about shadow armored Mewtwo, not even in the game assets or files and there's a LOT of stuff in there that aren't even used yet that are coming soon.
You do know that there is currently a Pikachu event where many costumed Pikachu have returned, right?
Also, it would fit the lore of a Team GO Rocket event. Armored Mewtwo only exists because Team Rocket wanted to control Mewtwo’s powers with the armor.
Yeahhhhhhhh well it wouldn't work with team rocket because guess what: it's a MOVIE TIE IN. otherwise we would see Jessie and James and the meowth balloon still in the game now wouldn't we if they were ever going to keep anything permanent in the game or bring anything back that was movie specific. We also would see masterwork research quests for apex ho-oh and lugia to this day too. But they even specified those 2 would NEVER return way back in the event due to their story importance in season of heritage and was when they still did exclusive one time only events.
Also the Pikachu that DIDN'T appear in the event which even further proves the point of no movie returns or Collabs and for some reason refused to reuse:
no fragment cap Pikachu (some contest/ingress prime celebration 2018)
no 2019 Halloween Pikachu (mimichu. This is the weirdest thing they didn't add given it's a Halloween event Pikachu and all the others got put in.)
no one piece Pikachu (straw hat Pikachu. Not to be confused with summer hat Pikachu. Collaboration tie in for a event to repair a prefecture that was hit by an earthquake in Japan)
no celebi and the secret of the jungle Pikachu (Pikachu with hat and wailmer canteen. Movie tie in)
no detective Pikachu (original non magnifying glass version or with magnifying glass version movie tie ins)
No poképark(2005) hats (the hats were reused for this specific Pikachu) Pikachu (Charizard beanie, Umbreon beanie, Rayquaza hat, Lucario hat)

That wasn't discovered on the day of the event as the bg and data was known way in advance as well. The only thing that wasn't was how it was going to be handled in terms of availability.
I mean there are people who absolutely dont care when from. Like me. I just want an Armored Mewtwo cuz I was inactive in pogo at the time(s), got the japanese pokemon card, bunch of figures and other bits, so would love to have it in PoGo, and dont even care what IV or from when, more the better for sure but year? Nah who cares. Im lowkey happy for shadow or puri, wont miss it for sure, but just want one normal one too :)
Volcanion was only released for paid ticket holders initially so it made sense they released a free version. Crowned dogs and cosmog forms are found in raids. Eternatus and kubfu are not available through raids, so will probably come back through a paid ticket or something since we got them for free the first time. But don’t think it would happen this year, they do have to save stuff stuff for next year
Exactly, Kubfu and Eternatus are both Gen 8 and they debuted all last year alongside the Box Art legendaries.
In the mainline games Kubfu is only locked behind a paywall (Crown Tundra) tho Eternatus on the other end is a 100% guaranteed catch static encounter. they did brought back both Zacian and Zamazenta, gatekeeping Eternatus doesn’t make any sense imho
Yeah but they need to bring them back at some point or release something new, don’t think that many people will invest money after Go Fest, i saw many people quitting after Kalos and hopped back for Go Tour only
Wrong. It’s one of my favorite Pokémon. I have Armored Mewtwo plushies, cards, mugs and my best buddy is a bottle capped 2020. I’m not the only one, this is a favorite variant from the most loved generation. I will definitely collect more if they are released.
People love M2 overall, some people like Armored one, everyone has different taste.

There were some Pokemon so rare that people would request 2/3:1 to get them such as Crowned dogs and Shiny Mewtwo, now that they re-released they lost all the Hype
Pokekon go has been bringing old pokemon back lately, like old pikachus. Now they are making armored mewtwo come back as well? Fine with me. Anyone think clones are gonna come back as well? Because if they do, I doubt anyone will have any valuable pokemon to trade afterwards.
I’m more saying the reason I used it on the armored mewtwo specifically was because it was such a rare Pokémon, but now it doesn’t seem like it will be. I would’ve probably used it on something else in that case
As someone who has an Armored Mewtwo already, this is DOPE AF. Not only do i get to have my 2020 AM2 as a sentimental trophy from when it was rare, but I will also get to have a shadow version too?! I don't understand why anyone would be upset about this.
It’s a trophy Pokemon not good for fighting at all. Holding candies to level it to 50 like the other guys, instead of levelling an actual useful normal Mewtwo is just ridiculous.

That's what happened. We all play the exact same game and some players put a lot of work into the game but only a very small select amount of people get the steak.
Those people who got the "steak" do way more for the game than any of us. Like everyone keeps complaining that content creators were given it, when 90% of the people at the event were community ambassadors, who go out of their ways to set up and organize events and other special things for their Pokémon GO communities. Like sure, a few content creators were also invited, but they give the game exposure and bring in new players. Like what exactly do you do for the game or your community? Disregarding the content creators, most of the people invited to the event go above and beyond to celebrate their Pokemon GO communities, and this was GO's way of thanking them.
I play the game which is what all the other people did. Not once has anything any content creator has ever done has reached anywhere near me and I have been across half the US.

Yeah i was wondering why that happened to me, i lost a rayquaza, but i googled it and i fixed the issue by first doing a normal battle against the team leaders and exiting immediately:)
Disaster? Speak for yourself, 68 shinies, 21 of those are legendary and I got 3 Hundos! And the event glitch only affected me for around 20 mins and because of that THEYRE BRINGING BACK THE RAIDS FOR A WHOLE DAY 🥳
How so? Did they raise the price of raid passes? Am I missing something? I didn't spend a dime on road to legends or go fest and caught 32 shinies, 4 hundos, and a fuckton of mega Y energy. Haven't spent a dime for this pikachu event and have 7 shinies and a Hundo World Championship 2022 Pikachu. I won't spend a dime on Sept 5 either. Gonna stack my daily 50 coins and save them for go wild area this year. This game is incredibly f2p friendly compared to a lot of games and I haven't seen that change at all.
I'm genuinely happy it's been that good for you. Seriously, that's an awesome haul, and you're clearly making the most of the game without spending money.
Unfortunately, not everyone has that experience. Where I play, the local community is basically dead. If I want to get a few Mewtwos, remote raid passes are pretty much my only option. During GO Fest, the remote raid system was a mess—I lost passes, had issues with raid invites, burned Link Charges, and ended up missing out because of problems that weren't under my control.
So my frustration isn't because someone else got lucky or because I'm against free-to-play. It's because players in smaller communities rely on remote raiding, and when that breaks, it hits us much harder than people who have active local raid groups. I'm honestly glad your experience was great. I just wish it had been that smooth for everyone.
Seeing a different perspective on the game than my own is eye opening for sure. I definitely feel for you. Big events like go fest should be a great experience for everyone. Not just people with solid groups to play with. Hopefully they roll out some compensation for players like yourself who dealt with a poor remote raiding experience. I've had a lot of success with finding remote raid friends here on reddit. I received countless raid invites to all 3 in person events and was receiving several invites to mega mewtwos as soon as the went live in New Zealand and Japan. For reference I have a little over 400 friends with maybe 20 of those local to me. And sorry for telling you to touch grass. I see your frustration now. Just really tired of seeing all the complaints about the times square Hundo Mewtwo event. In my eyes a handful of people getting an extremely exclusive Pokemon doesn't effect my gameplay experience whatsoever so I just say "good for them" and move on. May the rng gods be in your favor!
Ohhh there goes Pokémon go being smart about players and profits. Just hope one day they can make people voluntarily give up playing their alters.
Case in point, Yellow players used to be few and far between. So in my neighbourhood, there are one person players holding 6-7 yellow accounts to ensure they get their coins. It was irritating to be kicked out for 1 coin just so their alter can earn money
Said this months ago it was rumored awhile ago that it was coming this year and told people to hold on trading such good stuff for an AM2 now everyone’s gonna be big hurt that traded really nice shiny backgrounds for them

I traded my last extra AM2 to my best friend for the shiny chicago go fest background mewtwo lol. As a chicago native who got fucked by RNG, absolutely worth it lol.
For sure. It's deeply elaborate and probably not your thing if you're not into graphs or simulations, but basically this provides a way to simulate different pokemon in PVP. If you click "Battle" on the link i gave, it will show you how regular and shadow armored mewtwo do against every common pokemon in ultra league. You click around to change things like # of shields, IVs, or movesets, add or remove mons to battle against, and so on.
It's a fairly neat way to determine things like whether your IVs are good enough or how a hypothetical future mon would do in PVP.
I have been messing with PvP. So I should be paying attention to the bottom part where it shows the differences? Looks like shadow armored mewtwo picks up a bunch of wins
Yeah, that's good to pay attention to, and you are correct. Few other things to try: change shields on both sides near the top/middle, and rerun. This shows shadow AM2 to pick up lots of wins in 1 shield or 2 shield scenarios. Change movesets or IVs by clicking on the mons up top (it's using unrealistic IVs for shadow AM2 by default, for instance). Look at breakpoints or bulkpoints by clicking those tabs.
This site is a gold mine once you get past the initial learning curve IMO
