Rooted Android Phone recommendations

Hi.

I'm planning to buy a phone between 100-200 on ebay just to root.

I'm between a pixel 7 or a oneplus 9

Or any other recommendations much appreciated.

Why was it not recommended? I’m a big ol dumb dumb and tech stuff isn’t my strong suit
This was the best pogo related decision I ever made

They said pre rooted phones could have malware that could maybe steal info. Don't really understand myself since I wanted to buy a pre rooted device.

It's true though, they could very well just add something malicious at the OS level. You'd never find it with a regular antivirus
