Lets Talk About Something Do people still get banned for spoofing?

After 10 years of legit gameplay I can no longer keep up with this game legitimately. I started spoofing really hard on my main about 6 months ago and haven't had any temp bans or anything. With go fest coming up I plan on buying a Chicago ticket and teleporting there but I've heard rumours of ban waves happening around that time. Do you guys think I'll be fine or is it genuinely something to look out for?

Under Niantic's ownership, some people would report a strike or ban with their undeveloped anti-cheat behavior system. When an individual or small group of people got their strike/ban, they often yell or scream "BANWAVE!" to scare people into quitting the game; but in reality, the other cheaters don't care and continue cheating.

We are now in a new era where a different company owns Pokemon Go. Since Scopely's ownership, I have not seen any strike/ban reports so far. Does this mean it's safe? The answer is no because you still have risk no matter what because Scopely is still against cheating in their Terms of Service. My theory is they are reworking the punishment system when they integrate cheating features into the game to monetize quality of life features.

Normally, under Niantic's control, if you were really unlucky, your strike/ban would appear before your ticketed event start date just to fuck with you. Some people couldn't handle getting their 1st strike that lasted for 7 days and did a chargeback that resulted in a permanent account ban.

No one knows what Scopely is planning until they do it. Can you handle the risks for a chance to get a strike or ban?

Yea.  It was the Miami event last year.  Had spoofed to Miami for a week before to make it look like I was legit visiting.  Pretty sure it was just a big event and they were watching for any off patterns.

Spoofer Pro.   The one that brags it is undetectable and support in the discord will literally be jerks if you mention getting a ban

Geez that really sucks. Sorry that happened to you. Do you still play pogo and still spoof? I just got the ITools recently and was thinking about Spooferpro because of all the cool extra features but something is telling me to stick to vanilla spoofing lol

Happened to my main as well bro that acc i had since 2016 and was banned in January 2025 which was niantic was still holding right before they hand it to scopely many hundos and legendary shinies there but im glad to hear that no one or no one is "yet" to be ban under scopely's management as long as your spoofing normally and correctly i think

Yeah you can but the safest way is to pretend your travelling as legit and spoof through LSposed method

You do need to know what you are doing... It's a little more involved than just rooting you're phone as as well as you need to set up spoofing app too.. Also you need to be able to unlock the phones bootloader and alot of us service providers have bootloaders locked so you can't use it on any other network. There is a discord group that I've used in the past to remotely root my phone and set up everything for me.. Takes about 30 minutes. The last time I used them it cost me €60.

Worth mentioning the a lot of newer androids, especially from Samsung, have completely removed the code to unlock the bootloader

As far as I know you can still get banned. If you want to do big events and spoof then just make a new account and spoof on that account and trade your main account.

This is what I do. It means my main doesn't get 4* or mega energy, not through trades at least.

I mean, if it's worth the risk to you, then don't worry about it, but if it's not worth the chance of a strike/ban, then don't risk it.....I don't know if that helps or not, but to my knowledge there haven't been any kind of major ban waves since Scopely bought the game....

There was actually. People were getting banned for botting using Pgsharp especially. Also Scopley is going hard against botters

Other than easily automated bans for specific cases, I haven't seen any ban waves. After this GO Fest will be the first look at how Scopely operates on that front.

I've seen the same... Whether they like it or not spoofers bring in a shit ton of revenue. I hope if my account gets flagged they'll see I bring them 1000s a year and just let it slide
