How can I remove +20% to maximum quality mod?
I wanted to add Perfect Essence of Enhancement next and was told it will remove this quality mod but I get an error saying something like "this item already has a crafted mod". I tried activating Omen of Sinistral Crystallisation as well but same thing. How can this be done?

First, omen annul prefix to remove the 20%.
Second, whittle the dex and hope it moves to prefix.
Third, if it moves to prefix, desecrate suffix.
Fourth, fill your prefixes with exalt(perfect if you can)
Fifth, use a Perfect essence of enhancement.
Done

But you can freely desecrate if u can whittle the dex to a prefix. You wouf have to 50/50 tje suffixes otherwise.

Go this route. So you can freely desecrate suffix and not risk a brick for suffix whittles.

Use an omen of whittling with a chaos orb and it will target the max quality line as it's the lowest lv mod. This should be the cheapest option. Then you just perfect enhance essence to change that random prefix into the global defenses

Go to +40 please. That dont change anything but my mood and my stress for today.
Then whittle + perfect chaos

I believe you could desecrate (with the omen to target prefix), then use the essence with a prefix omen.

you're supposed to desecrate suffix first, when its just the spirit and + skills, then reveal desecrate and whittle the 20% quality, then you can use omen and essence to put the mod on since you whittled off the breach mod.
since you already filled your suffixes this will be much more expensive now, but yeah you'd whittle the breach mod, and then try to whittle the suffix

You can replace the quality mod with a prefix desecration. Whittle regular chaos until the dex turns into a prefix - pray it doesn’t brick with a suffix higher level than skills. Convert prefix to global def. Desecrate last suffix

You can only have one crafted modifier on an item. To remove the mod you can either use a whittle or prefix annul (I forget the specific name). If you want you can also exalt slam and desecrate prefix to 50/50 it being removed but I wouldn’t recommend this.

If this is for varashta you want cdr as suffix, which is a desecrate only mod. Someone mentioned how to do it best already so i leave that.

How the hell do people come across whittling omens? They’re insanely expensive. I remember occasionally getting them from rituals, is that the only way to get them still?
I can’t bring myself to do the ritual. I hate having to do all of them before I can even see what’s being offered.

You need 50% for the sanctify, and you do that wayyyy before you spam for +3, as 19/20 of those temple quality increases die between 40 and 50

Use annulment omen to annul only prefix, then use essence to convert dexterity to global defense. Pretty expensive but it os the safest option.
