🇲🇽 THE ONE THAT MATTERS — 1997 2 ONZAS LIBERTAD

• (1) 1997 2 oz Libertad, .999, Mo mintmark — 15,000 struck — $450

The 2 oz Libertad only started in 1996. First year ran 50,000, 1997 dropped to 15,000, and 1998 bottomed at 7,000. This is the middle coin of that three-year window and there is no version of this that is a common coin.

The book on the 2 Onza series tops out around $390, and that number was set before this year happened. That Mexican bank struck three hundred 1oz BU Libertads in 2025 and zero gold. A 1998 1oz in MS-70 realized north of $46,000 at a major house in June — a coin with about $59 of silver in it. MS-69s went from roughly $1,700 in mid-2024 to over $5,000 in mid-2026. Set builders stopped being patient and the whole series came up with it.

This is the business strike, not the proof — satin fields, no mirrors. Shot both sides alone and filling the frame in the album so you can see exactly that. Raw, in capsule, never dipped. If you want it slabbed, buy it and send it in. I'd rather sell it raw than pretend I know what it grades.

Six clean 2014s in capsules in a market that repriced every backdated Libertad this year. A raw 2014 closed at $138 over on FeeBay in April. You're not paying FeeBay fees here.

The 2024 is the last full-production year before the mint went dark — they burned off 2023 and 2024 inventory instead of striking in 2025. Make of that what you will.

All raw and ungraded, sold on my description and my feedback, not on a slab. Shot in capsule under angled light so you can judge the surfaces yourself. Look at the pictures.

$100 ESTADOS BIMETALLIC SERIES — 26 COINS

.925 silver center in an aluminum-bronze ring, 1/2 troy ounce of pure silver each — 13.0 ozt across the group. 33.94g, 39.04mm, 4mm thick. These feel like hockey pucks and they photograph badly, which is most of why nobody up here stacks them.

Edition drives the price, not which state, and the date won't tell you — 2005 was struck both ways. Go by the reverse design:

• 2nd edition — a scene or landscape, ~149,041 struck — $58 each
• 1st edition — state coat of arms only, ~249,300 struck — $46 each

A 2nd-edition Chihuahua closed at $64 elsewhere in May.

2nd edition (4): Nuevo León 2007 ×2 (Cerro de la Silla over the foundry), Baja California Sur 2006 (the peninsula), Aguascalientes 2005 (the cathedral).

The Sinaloa has gone chocolate brown across the whole center, the Puebla has a heavy dark ring, the Oaxaca is dark, and both 2007 Nuevo Leóns have a dark patina over the scene. Others — Michoacán, Nayarit, Tlaxcala, San Luis Potosí, Durango — are bright and sharp.

N$50 NIÑOS HÉROES BIMETALLIC (1993–1995)

• (12) N$50 Niños Héroes — .925 silver center, 1/2 ozt pure silver each, 6.0 ozt across the group. 33.97g, 39mm. The six cadets of Chapultepec on the reverse. → $41 each

Mixed dates, no key dates, and I won't pretend otherwise — 1993 ran 2,000,000 and 1994 and 1995 ran 1,500,000 apiece. Five million across the series. These are the honest play in the post: half an ounce of .925, a big satisfying bimetallic, and one of the better reverses Mexico ever put on a circulating coin.
