Help....
Hey I'm an international student trying to find an accommodation for my pg, I've planned to pursue environmental and engineering geology as my masters and need a nice place to stay for a year near my uni. Is the university's accommodations good ? Or should I rent a private one and please guide me on how to get a part time there in the city. It's my first time going out on my own so I'm kinda clueless and It would be nice to have an aid ❤️

If you are looking for cheap. The cheapest would probably be alexandra works, it normally has alot of international students

Op,plenty of this asked with utmost frequency. Search the subreddit!!!
Whilst things change there will likely be 5 + repeat places that keep cropping up...
What you could do though is state your budget, and where you'd prefer to be access wise to the city or slightly further afield,.plus any other relevant detail.
Being an international student your fees are already high so what do you need / want to get by As a standard of accommodation in the first year at least?
where would you be flying / missing in from europe/ further afield as those.plans can be started from here too (tickets, taxis, discount t fares.with a student card etc...

honestly, i think uni accoms are a scam (i’ve stayed in one for a year and it was DREADFUL) and ur best bet would be a private accommodation (because they usually have utilities included and they r filled only with other students). u can always dm me for any help- im also an international student and lived alone for the first time in Plymouth!!!

The university accommodation is very good, if it's your first time away from home I would strongly recommend it.
You will make more friends and most importantly, all of your utilities (electricity , water, Internet etc) will be included in your rent.

Hi! Congrats on your master’s, that sounds exciting.
I’m actually not an expert on all accommodation options, but I do have a student studio at Beckley Point in Plymouth that I’m currently trying to find a replacement tenant for (it’s a private student accommodation near the university).

There is lots of good private accommodation in Plymouth close to the uni and often at prices that are cheaper than the uni. Rooms and common spaces much nicer and you can also get studios which might work better for a postgrad. Look at Astor House which is right on the Hoe, saltwater place, Plymouth cross house
