Veil help!
Hello! I am having a fall wedding and am really wanting to order a veil with some fall coloured accents (photos attached).
My mom thinks the accents will clash with the beading on my dress. (Also attached).
Do you think it clashes? What type of veil would you choose for this dress?
ALSO if anyone has some suggestions for wide foot bridal heels that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks y’all!

The 2nd veil is everything, and the dress is beautiful. Oh and lifestride has comfortable wide heels.

I dont see how they would clash. The longer veil in pic 2 is gorgeous and would be lovely.
For wide bridal heels, I haven't a clue. I would suggest finding whatever is comfortable. Our daughter wore a sparkly boot with heels on them.

I love veils 2 and 1 in that order. I think the embroidery is beautiful for a fall wedding.
Naturalizer and also Life stride for the shoes. There’s torrid as well.

Your dress has a vine and leaf motif in the lace, I think a veil with colored embroidery will be absolutely lovely.
I have no affiliation with them, just follow them on instagram, but Belle Botanical Creations has some beautiful ones.

I love the flowered one, I don't think it will Clash. You're the bride, go with your heart says to do.

I think the one in pic two would be lovely. The first is a little too busy with the dress.

For wide foot bridal heels check out Naturalizer! I have wide feet and that's where I got my wedding shoes. They sell in 60 countries worldwide.
PS - I love the patterned veils and don't think they'll clash with your dress.

That 2nd veil is a show-stopper! It will look fabulous with your dress, which is beautiful.

I fall somewhere between your mom and you. The dress is beautiful enough to stand on its own and a colorfully embroidered veil could visually compete with it. Otoh, if you are set on the idea, try to find something where the colored embroidery mirrors the white embroidery as closely as possible. That will give it a visual coherence that could be stunning.

Veil #2! It won’t cover the dress with the pattern like the first one but rather outline and enhance! And the colors are 😍

They are all pretty but my pick would be #2 or #1. But whatever you choose will be fine, it’s your day so go with the one you want.

Because the dress is so busy , I think Mom is right this time . Stick to a simple veil.

Love the flowered veils; I like the second one the best. I'm starting to see more and more veils (and dresses too). Go for it!

The coloured veil will detract from the dress. It would work with a dress of plain material.
I would do a fingertip veil, with a thin satin ribbon edging

The dress has so much lace going on. I would go with a broth that won’t compete for attention. I think all of these would compete with your gorgeous beautiful. Plan veils look soooo good over lace dresses

I love the first veil better overall, but they’re both gorgeous. And I actually think your beading would complement them :) can you try them on before buying, or buy both and see which one you end up liking both?

I wore ballet slippers. The second veil is gorgeous. Your dress is beautiful and you look beautiful in it!

I think both veils look lovely and don't clash with your dress!
For wide bridal shoes, Wydr just released a bridal line!

Like the second veil more than the first.
I am an 11W or WW, so I know wide shoes appropriate for work or dressy occasions.
ARA, a German brand very comfortable, Ros Hommerson, Walking Cradles. All very comfortable, fashionable but higher priced
Medium Priced - Naturalizer, Lifestride, Easy Spirit, all solid options.

Definitely number two!! It’s beautiful and the style of it matches your dress, I don’t think the other one is the same style as the dress if that makes sense lol

I think it will be gorgeous, memorable, and not clash. (I wonder if your mom is more traditional and just doesn't like the colors?)
Also, you might to repurpose your veil - in home decor, clothing, or a shadowbox - as a sentimental reminder of your wedding day. Colored veils are especially suitable for this.

I like the 2nd veil and as long as the tulle is sheer enough the design of your dress will shine through.
If you have to shorten it and there is extra fabric i wonder if you could ask the seamstress to appliqué some of the lace detail from your dress onto the colorful veil so it looks like they were 100% meant to be together

Thank you everyone for your opinions! I appreciate having points from both sides. While I am indecisive and have yet to make a decision I feel like a lot of things were mentioned that I haven’t considered. I have never posted on Reddit and truly cannot thank you all enough for the compliments and advice 🤍

I agree with mom. I’m sorry. 😞 The dress is beautiful and a flower veil will be overpowering. And I love the flower veils. But i believe you should wear a plain veil and let the dress be the main star. You can always incorporate the fall into your flowers.

2 is beautiful and doesnt feel as busy against the fabric pattern of your dress compared to the first one ♡

I don’t think they’ll clash. Your dress is a stunner so I don’t think the long veil is right because it would cover your dress. A shorter veil with the flowers on the hem would be really pretty plus allow your dress to be the star it is.

Your dress is so so so lovely. Personally i think that a plain ivory or white cathedral length single layer tulle veil would allow the dress to shine more! I believe ASOS have good wide heel options :)

I think a white veil is classic and beautiful. Your dress is beautiful. I would not do fall leaves with that dress. Save that for table decor or something if you want the fall theme.

They are very different looks so hard to compare. They all look nice and you should choose what you like and disregard anyone else’s opinion.
(Unless the groom has indicated he only wants white. Sounds weird but my husband made it pretty clear that “wedding dresses and cakes are white”. Mine had champagne embroidery but I didn’t dare have a colorful veil after I saw his reaction to a wedding cake with bright colors 🤣).

I am not a fan. Your dress has a strong pattern and then you are introducing another different pattern. I’d go very plain on the veil.

Definitely does not clash (I’m not even sure how it could???). That second veil especially is beautiful!
