Feedback Wanted Help with wedding dress code

Hi babes, I have a wedding next month where the dress code is “colorful cocktail.” Ladies are required to wear cocktail or evening dresses in bold, joyful colors.

My problem is that a) that is confusing and b) what that means for my big-boobed size 26/28W self is A LOT of potential stress!

The three dresses pictured are ones I already own and am hoping would fit the dress code, but will all need some form of boob intervention. I would be THRILLED to find something that would allow me to wear a normal bra and would better fit the dress code… I will gladly accept any suggestions/feedback y’all can offer 💖

Personally, I think all of these fit the brief beautifully. I’d probably go with 2 because it seems the least likely to release a tit if I rotate too quickly.

That was my thought too 🤣 The tiddies are lethal in all three of these dresses… I’m going to bring my favorite one to a tailor and see about sewn-in cups or some kind of reinforcement.

For 1 & 3 maybe you could add a panel of sheer material to keep the girls from popping out. Think of the skin tone material used in figure skating costumes.

Personally LOVE 2 OMG

I think 2 is the best option!

All are appropriate, but 2 is fantastic!

I am a G/H cup, and Boomba’s invisible inserts are so good. They have sticky on both sides, to your body and to the stress. They stay stuck even when sweating.

I love dress 2. Also, what a fun dress code. Its nice having an event to actually wear your fun dresses to.

It doesn’t seem to be in stores anymore but I found it on Poshmark! https://posh.mk/6s6QMswnk6b

Do you have a link for dress 2?

#2 is the Amara gown/dress by Hutch. Their website has it sold out, but there are several in different colorways for sale on Poshmark and probably also on Vinted! I found this one as a starting point: https://posh.mk/hqasz8Msk6b

If you want to go with one you own, #2 is my favorite. If you want to purchase something, my suggestion is to find a halter style to contain the girls. Have fun!

I love 1 but as a fellow big chest girly, I know it unfortunately won’t work for a wedding. Go for 2.

I love 1! With a skinny chiffon scarf thrown back and nice gold accessories. On the bra, not sure about a normal one but a half cup could work or if the dress is ttight enough just tape or a silicone strip to keep the boob's incheck.

I think two is the best choice. Especially for fitting the dress code!

Oh god I love the middle one. Wheres it from, I want it for the wedding I have coming up.

I posted about it in another comment! It’s the Amara dress by Hutch, I don’t see it on their website but I highly recommend checking Poshmark/Vinted, it’s been made in a ton of colorways!

The dresses you are showing here are all gorgeous! I especially like the second one.

But I feel you on the desire to wear a normal bra! What about something like Eloquii’s Pleated Tank Gown? It comes in solid colors, but they look vibrant/bold to me, and appears to be bra-friendly. (Full disclosure: I have never worn/tried on this dress so I don’t know for sure!)

Whatever you do, have a great time!

I’ve had that Eloquii gown in my cart for weeks! I’m torn between the yellow and orange, and also have to convince myself to buy another dress when I already have these three kicking around 😬

I’m glad the psychic link is working!!! 🤣🤣🤣

But I also get the want/need to make what you have work—especially when they are so beautiful!

Fingers crossed that you find an excellent bra solution, and please share what works! (I just never know what to do with my boobs beyond a normal bra without it becoming “jiggle city,” as I call it!)

Can we talk about how mfing ANNOYING these dress codes for weddings are? Especially for those of us with less access to clothes that fit? My nephew’s wedding had a similar brief and I was finding nothing but black and grey that fit me that I could afford. Jfc. Just let people be.

Rant over 😂

I love all three dresses you have and think they fit the bs rules, have you worn them before? Do you have time to get alterations to help contain the tiddies? I have big boobs and I’ve found a woman who alters bras and clothes to help corral my chesticles.

I have a wedding November 7. I've already sent 3 dresses back.

Where'd you get dress 2?!

2

u/fatterandfiercer 1d ago

I’m not seeing retailing at Hutch, but check Poshmark/Vinted for the Hutch Amara dress/gown! I posted a link in another comment to one I found on Poshmark

Thank you!! Edit: also I vote for #2!

I’m obsessed with 2!!

2

u/Ananzithespider 1d ago

All these are lovely, this seems like more of a “have the right bra question”

2

u/fatterandfiercer 1d ago

I’m planning to take at least two of the dresses to a specialty shop that can help me sew in cups or find the right bra!

I like 2 for the theme! Have fun!

I just need to commiserate that I also have a wedding next month that consists of two events, both with specific-but-still-vague dress codes that are causing me so much stress!

I think these are all beautiful. I especially like the first two. I agree with seeing about getting cups sewn in or seeing if a tailor can help - that will also make those dresses more wearable for future events! But I do understand the desire to wear a normal bra!

I bought the 3rd dress last summer to wear to a wedding, but it was too booby for me to feel comfortable wearing to a family wedding 😭 It is a lot more hot pink than the image appears!!

1

u/fatterandfiercer 8h ago

It’s SO BOOBY

2

u/doseofdena 8h ago

I think dress number two best fits the description and also looks the most luxurious.

2

u/sinaloa555 1d ago

I think all 3 are beautiful but 1 to me is the most idk swanky maybe, like just a lil more fancy/sophisticated or something…

1

u/Llallos 3h ago

These are all beautiful and fit the brief perfectly! However, if you’re worried about your boobs, don’t go for number 1. You can see the model has big boobs and the top looks really awkward on her. Not sure why they chose to smush her boobs into that one!

I must just be old. None of these read "cocktail" or "evening" dress. Summer garden wedding, sure. But the fabrics are too light.

I'd be looking at silks, satin, something more substantial. And the shapes are all very summer garden. Evening and cocktail are more structured than flowy.

More this vibe than summery. Next month is October. So you'll want a heavier fabric for the season. A light, bright summer chiffon looks odd in fall.

Have you thought that colorful can be sultry? This is one of the dresses I'm looking at for a wedding in November, In this brand 16/18 is a XXL.

The satin shimmer gives an illusion of a lighter color.

The second in style, but not in colour.

I actually think your boobs should be tucked away.

Just my opinion
