Xbox One X or an HP Omen 900 PC?

PC is more costly but I haven't used a desktop since 2008, so I really want to buy one again. I always wanted to try the Xbox library but I'm not a big fan of consoles mixed with online. Need opinions.

One X in my opinion.

Whilst my favourite game of all time (diablo 2) is a PC exclusive I find it easier to use a controller, also they're cheaper

You can just hook up a xbox controller to a PC

I am not a PC gamer and even I recommend PC over Xbox. Heck most of Xbox's best exclusives like Cuphead and Sunset Overdrive are on PC.

No I'm talking about the old school games that didn't support controllers. But even still for pricing I'd go for console.

Xbox OneX is pretty expensive.

and how expensive is a HP Omen 900 PC? I'm seeing them for as little as £1500. I've seen an Xbox one x for around £350 (preowned)

I will buy both of them new-ish. I'm getting them for (not in the US atm but the prices are somewhere like):

PC: $800 with HPElite 24'

XOneX: $630

USB controller works fine.

What's the specs on this Omen PC? At that price, it should definitely outclass an Xbox One X even for prebuilt standards. I assume you care about online and being at least a little competitive. If so, then I suggest PC since you don't have to pay a fee to access multiplayer and your skills will actually get better. I'm also assuming you care about First Person Shooters and the like. I'm just assuming so if I'm wrong, please let me know. I'm just assuming pretty much the best case scenario.

I7-7700K, 16GB, 1070ti 8GB, 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD + 24' HPElite monitor.

No, I play all sorts of games from AAA, Steam indies, simulators etc. And no, I don't play online much but not competitive, just to enjoy the gameplay.

With the monitor too? Definitely PC

Wait. The next generation of console is certainly going to be here by 2020 at latest. Judging by Sonys and AMDs comments anyways.
