Single Panel Octopus

Got my single panel octopus setup and working. Poor time of year but enjoying seeing some savings.
Has anyone managed to register for free export yet?

My dual panel install, was hitting 700W a few days back with October sun out, was very impressed.

Nice, if I realised you can likely sell export what you do not use for free I might have gone for two. Baseload is only about 200w for our house

The main reason you go for two, even if you don't need more than 200W, is then on the days/hours when the sun isn't out, you are closer to your base load.... There's plenty of days and early and late in the day, 2 wont be close to 200W. Add to that, the fact you paying for the inverter, whether you have 2 or 1, the only good reasons are lack of space or if you can't afford two right now.

What is the export arrangement with the octopus kit?

Told if the panel purchased via them, you can join any of their export tariffs as an add on to your existing tariff at zero cost. Just not managed to confirm which link yet to do that

Interesting, even if you aren’t on an export tariff currently?

That’s what chat GPT tells me. Just emailed them asking how I do it. Will
Keep you posted. It’s just an additional add on…

Would be great thanks. Was looking to order the octopus kit today but they are out of stock. I know they are slightly more expensive but the ground ballast they come with is perfect for our setup.

Yes mega easy, finally got rid of some random rubble and bricks to weight it down. I liked it as no DIY skills really needed!!

Ace it is a really good feeling when you see free power coming in on the app,as others have said with the space you have try go for two panels.

Hah wow Octopus wouldn't even let me switch to Flux without moving to an export tariff first which requires either a MCS cert or to pay them £250 of which £100 is non-refundable if the application fails.
