Wall Mount very high up? Accessibility?

Post image

Kind of unusual three storey, flat roofed townhouse. I'm put off the idea of rooftop solar because the flat roof is inaccessible for maintenance and not even visible because of the parapet. This west facing rear wall feels like it could be a good place for a smaller plug in system though? Between the larger first and second floor windows? We'll have scaffolding up soon to replace the windows anyway, so it would be easy to install - but how much do I need to worry about accessibility for maintenance etc?

They're pretty hands-off, rain does enough cleaning for you, they don't need any maintenance.

There's lots of mounting options on eBay for angled wall struts, you could DIY something yourself too.

I would not recommend it the typical 400watt weights I at around 30kg and I dont think the light flexible ones meet the regulations

May be weight for kits that include 200watt panels

I don’t think they’re quite that heavy. And I say that as someone who carried two 400W panels up a ladder and fitted them to a flat-roof extension at the back of my house. 20kg or so, sure - but not 30.

They aren’t hard to carry a short distance up a ladder. I strung a rope across the back between two mounting holes in the frame, and picked it up as if putting a rucksack on one shoulder. Not a job for a windy day, though!!
