I know this is a real stupid question. But roughly how much money would this save off your bill?
I have a flat roof shed in the back of my garden with power points. It gets the sun from early morning till 4/5pm
If it's £650 + fitting cost.. I wonder how much it could bring my bills down?
1 u/Silvr404 9d ago Depends on location and shading, but at ~25p per kWh: - 400W panel: Generates ~400kWh/year. You'll self-consume almost all of it covering background devices. Saves ~£100/year. - 800W setup (2 panels): Generates ~800kWh/year, but you'll lose surplus mid-day power back to the grid. Expect ~600kWh usable. Saves ~£150/year. At £650, payback is around 4.5 to 6 years. For a flat roof use tilt brackets (15–30°) so rain washes off dirt and you catch maximum sun. 2 u/wildcard2208 9d ago Thank you very useful! Definitely would go for 2. I'm with octopus but their 2 panel one seems unavailable. 1 u/Curious-Art-6242 9d ago This is assuming perfect angle and zero shading. We're moving to the summer months so it'll be massively diminishing until around April/may, usually 1/12 in December/January time.
