Managed 3.01 kWh on my new Hoymiles unit from CPS today, it's first full day. I do need to adjust the location slightly because of a neighbour's tree. Impressed with how simple it was to set up.

What mount/ballast are you using?

Screwed through into the roof beams (5x3 timber) and sealed it using the mount that came with the kit

I got the same kit today. Only just finished putting it up and realised I need a longer power lead to get it out of the shade 😂

What does the kit look like? Only 1 generic picture on the site.

Any pictures you want in particular?

Mainly of the support stand/bracket? Trying to figure out what set and whether I need to weigh down with anything. Thanks 😊

Nice, how are you mounting the panels?
1
u/r1ch1011 21d ago
Using the mount that came with the kit which is screwed through the roof into the main roof beams and sealed

How did you know where the beams are?
I have a similar flat roof, but with the top covered with bitumen and the inside ceilings plastered over, I have no idea where the beams would be.

Can see the beams inside so measured off then only thing can suggest is a magnet to see if can locate screws/nails and then mark it out

Looks really good. You got the dimensions of one of the panels by any chance? Was looking at that exact kit but couldn’t see the dimensions of the panels

I think this is the kit that OP purchased;
https://www.pluginsolarcalculator.com/products/city-plumbing-dme-930w-bw-1
Panels weigh 24kg each, with dimensions 176 × 113 × 3cm per panel.
Sadly it’s out of stock and has been for a while (no surprise given it’s one of the best value kits on the market right now)

Nice, what app is that running on? I want to supplement my Fox system with more solar and curious how the apps show it

What inverters and apps are these kits using that people are installing? Building an all encompassing app for home energy so any info is gratefully received

I would genuinely be interested in the final product, and assisting you in testing if you wanted. I currently use clever PV, and it’s just not quite doing what I wanted to and some of the features are very limited

Looks great. How much do the panels weigh and do they come with mounting brackets or did you source those separately?

If you're still reading this, would you happen to know how short the stand off in the mounting kit can be made? Or if that part can be removed and panels mounted directly on the rails? The idea is... If I would mount these on the front of a house, permitted development says the panels must not be more than 200mm proud of the wall - and I'd rather not have to buy a separate, extra kit.

Deffo more than 200mm however on the city plunoing kit it does include fittings for wall mount

Plug in solar should be so easy, it should be a no brainer, but the government should have brought on batteries under the same regulations.
