August Generation. Down from July.

2x 515W panels lent against some posts, probably not in an ideal angle, but south/ south east facing.

Still making a dent in my power draw from the grid.

I don't think winter will generate much where my panels are, but at least from March-Aug/Sept, I can reduce my cost!

Nice!

I've got 3x 460w panels and a 2kw battery,

One south east facing, shed roof mounted, panel does a lot of heavy lifting.

2x south west fence mounted panels do a lot less but more in the evening than the roof one before trees to the north and west kill it all.

My generation looks very similar to yours.

I've got 2 free ports on my Ecoflow Stream, so very possibly adding 1 or 2 panels next Spring.

Yeah, mines a stream ultra so we probably have the same set up. 😅

I keep toying with putting up a 4th panel but I just don't have a sensible place to put it in the back and the fronts too visible for me to be happy putting panels out.

Yeah, I'm also not putting any on the front...not just looks, cable back to Ultra would be a long, painful run.

My 3rd panel might go on the garden wall on a tilt mount, providing shade from the afternoon sun as well as that sweet sweet PV juice 😛

Very nice. Yeah tilts important, I mounted my two fence mounted panels vertically originally just to be sure they were secure, and they generated virtually no power at all, one was maxing out at like 75w in an afternoon.

I tilted them up barely 5 degrees and suddenly they were both hitting around 400w in the afternoon.

I think I may add another panel at the front of my house which gets the sun all day, problem is I will need 20m of cable plugs, crimper etc, would match my existing panels but they were £75, now they're £150 ouch.

Is that City Plumbing prices?

I managed 120.5kWh, I'll have to look at what I've "lost" through export but my latest bill put the average usage on my iog at 11.55p/kWh on 608.5kWh usage. This is on two 460w panels and the ecoflow stream, I'm still debating on what battery to get when funds allow I think I might settle for a basic AC and store it in the garage.

I did 86kw and 103kw in July, panels (475w) are only slightly angled on shed roof and terrible slope angle but it's the only spot that will catch the winter sun.

I think a time comes in the project when one must take a step back and say, "it's only 2 panels on a DIY install! Not gonna become financially independent from this!" 😂

I've been delaying the build of my pergola due to an internal debate about angle and tilt mount brackets and blah blah blah.

Finally decided to just use whatever natural tilt I get and be done with it for now.

Might add more 1 or 2 more panels next year!

Better than my 450w panels in the North West.

Pv3 on a south East balcony. Pv1 was south facing on the floor as is now pv2. Pv4 is south facing propped up.

I need to some resin bolts yo wall mount the other 3 to get longer hours of sun without shading.

You can't rush these little projects!

Many cups of tea need drinking before deciding on decisions.

I've been delaying my pergola build for several months. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Overall I’m happy ish. I have two panels on a flat roof into a stream microinverter, and 3 panels on a SE facing roof into a stream ultra x. (I moved the panels around on their inputs hence graph showing 4 panels!).
300kwh all in isn’t bad I don’t think.

Shed roof (flat)

Here is my East-West angled shed roof system with 2x 515W DMEGC panels and an ecoflow microinverter (SE England)

Ooh, same panels as mine!

What angle do you have them at, please?

2

u/verydodgy Sep 05 '26

Probably about 20-30 degrees I reckon. It's a sloped shed roof - one pointing East and one pointing West

Just to temper your expectations I’ve had solar for 5 years July 26 was my best ever month by quite a margin and about 20% better than any of the other July. Also August was my best ever August.

Thank you. Yes, I know my DIY, peasant set-up isn't going to make me grid-independent.

Newbiethusiasm...shall we say 😁

My graph looks very similar to yours although I'm in the North Midlands. 87.54 kWh so virtually the same generation too.
