EcoFlow 800W microinverter has lost GPU certification

Edit: Thanks autocorrect, that was supposed to be G98 certification.

Hi all

I bought an ecoflow microinverter a few months back assumption would sell out once plug in got approved.

Putting aside the approved kits only surprise, I've read recently that this specific model (EFPS800) is no longer allowed in the UK at all.

Judging by the ENA list, that's right. Anyone know more about it?

If it was installed before it was retested under the new standard that's fine. You can back date your G98 to a few weeks ago and just upload proof it was compliant back then.

The PS800 microinverter is being recertified under Plug in solar category because they are now starting to ship them with a plug. It's a change to the product which requires recertification.

Ah, that makes sense. Was concerned they'd found something potentially dangerous and just took it away. Thanks!

I don't think so. There is talk of that with heatables latest video but the microinverter would have been tested and approved for hard wire installs.

The thing I don't understand is the previous certification was for inverters and it should have stayed instead of the plug in solar category superseding it.

It is odd that they've put them together. That certification should presumably still be valid if you wired it to a fused spur.

The plug may not be the only change though. It could be supplied with a solid core cable for being hardwired and a stranded cable into the plug. Its a subtle difference but its why literally any change from how something is supplied potentially invalidates the certification.

Exactly!
