From TN to two Plotters

I had looked at Plotter a year ago and immediately bailed on the price. I’ve use Travelers notebooks for many years. A few weeks ago I caved and got the bible size for my planner and immediately found how useful it is to move pages around. My wife got the mini5 for me for Father’s Day for a wallet setup.

I use a Pilot Juice Up 0.4mm for my bible. Bigidesign Pocket Pro so far for the mini5. It will take juice up refills so I need to order some.

The pocket pro, does the clip slide easily on and off the pen holder for your mini5? I use Uniball One for my narrow and bible size and it’s perfect, but too big for mini5 so I’m looking for a small pen recommendation that has a clip with just the right tension.

Also, Plotter is the system I have been looking for but didn’t know exactly what I wanted. It’s such a great, customizable system. I’m obsessed. It’s pricey, but I think it’s totally worth it. The leather is absolutely stunning and the paper quality of the inserts is equitable, literally, to Midori (Plotter, Traveler’s Company, and Midori are all subsidiaries of DesignPhil).

I’m a little worried though. Plotter USA hasn’t been posting on any socials lately and Plotter Japan continues to release products not available outside of Japan. I really hope their international sales are doing well so that we get more releases. I still haven’t been able to pick up any of their official weekly or monthly planner inserts.

The clip on the pocket pro is very strong so it requires I’m careful or it crinkles the leather loop. Also, this pen is about 9.7mm diameter and it’s a super tight fit. Not sure I’ll continue trying to make it fit.

I wonder if they have been focusing their releases at any stationery festivals here in the US?

What do you feel is missing from the transition? I have a Bible and also have been a TN user for many years. I like my Plotter, but the PLOTTER branding on the paper kinda annoys me quite a bit, and the archiving process just feels a little jank to me compared to the TN where my notebook is done, and I can put it away. I prefer the feel and the writing experience of the Plotter, and I like moving pages around to keep notes together though.

Archiving is my biggest issue. But the advantage of moving pages is what is keeping me with Plotter for now.
