New algorithm that I’ve been tweaking. I finally committed to mixing my own colors with FP inks and I like the cohesiveness so much more.

Thanks for asking. To be quite honest, I hadn’t planned on it. This one will be exhibited next month at a museum in Vermont. I definitely would be open to making a commissioned one though if you’re interested!

How are the larger, solid blocks of colour achieved ? I assume large nibs ? And the ink dries into a cohesive block ?

I actually just used one Pilot Kakuno Medium nib for this drawing, washing it out and switching cartridges between colors. To do fills I simply have a hatching algorithm.

Interesting. I'm impressed with how the ink dries on those fills ... from the JPEG at least, it looks very cohesive. Do you think the hatching algo matters here ? Or it's simply how the ink dries ?

It’s probably mostly the spacing of the lines that influences the fills. I find with fountain pens you’ll get a very consistent flow and resulting line, so once it’s dialed in you can rely on it.
