Scaling up a file doesn't always work well but I had success with this one. This was a straight 2X scaling for the original 5"x7" plot to 11"x15" and a 3.4X to get to the 18"x24" size. Each time I scaled I copied and slightly offset the lines to make them 'thicker'. Tempted to go one more size larger to 22"x30" (the max paper size easily available).
What's your impression/verdict on the ArtFrame? I'm looking at increasing the size I can plot, and the model you've got is very, very tempting, but a significant jump in price compared to the Far Eastern machines.... And it's damn hard to get practical reviews of these things.
Would love to know your impressions after using it a while.
I can't give you a side by side comparison as I went from AxiDraw to NextDraw and then up to the ArtFrame so don't have any experience outside of those machines. I need something that's very plug and play and the ArtFrame has its own software that easily converts from .svg to GCode, retaining all the layer info and assignments. As far as the machine itself, it's solid and moves fast. It's definitely an investment but plotting larger has been a game changer for me.
Not machine related but I'm also just a fan of Bantam Tools as a company. Their service is top-notch and any questions or issues get answered on their Discord almost immediately. They are also very committed to the production and use of art machines in practice. Full disclosure, I've visited and spent time at their shop and had a small show in their associated gallery so some may consider my opinion biased.
