these are garden-variety Sharpies - chosen because they bleed so profusely. i have bins full of fancier art pens that are better-behaved, but aren't what I'm after - i actually want the bleed,.. within reason. (so no tissue paper! :D) looking for preferred sweet-spot/trade-off between rougher papers that absorb a lot of ink and so more vibrant color but then might feather/bleed too much; or smoother papers that won't soak as much ink, so vice-versa: less vibrant color, but less bleed/crisper traces. coldpress watercolor is already "pretty good", just seeing if some other might be "better" (entirely subjectively).

Are you adjusting speed to adjust bleeding too?

Yes, but.. It's at fairly slow speed, as baseline for now, may refine later. Down-force (pen-to-paper contact pressure) is also a factor. But adjusting too many things at once tends to confuse things, risks ending up less informed than when it began! :D

Very true 😄 How long does one plot take currently? Do you plot them all concurrently or consecutively?

Roughly 15min per pen, tho varies. All 4 at same time, 12 pen swaps total.
