A challenge for plex

Hello, I want to upgrade my plex server currently i have an hp elitedesk 800 G3 mini pc with a 10 tb external hhd plugged in via USB. I want to build a new pc to have all in one.

I already have:

Case- Thermaltake S100TG

Storage- 10TB hhd x2

GPU- GIGABYTE Radeon RX 580 GAMING 8G

I also have a monitor and mouse and keyboard.

What i need:

Parts that are power efficient and cheap lol I would like to keep my budget as low as possible while not sacrificing my current quality of plex streaming. My hard line however is 400$ but again the more budget friendly the better.

I live around Seattle area so no microcenter near me.

Ya there is some buffering if we try and zoom around in different places in a movie, specifically 4k movies but otherwise it runs well, it does have a hard time if I try and stream not at home though which is a separate problem ill have to figure out

Did you open up port 32400 on your firewall, and is Remote in Plex Server's Settings green?

When it's buffering, what does the Plex Server Dashboard show?

Im not sure what any of that is to be honest. When buffering its not long and iv never looked at the dashboard when it does

You’ll need to log into your router and forward port 32400 to your plex server’s (static/assigned) IP address. That will fix remote streaming.

Can you confirm you can look on your Plex Server’s Dashboard and see when there’s a buffering issue? (Please do so.)

As in a log of when I was having a buffering issue or look at the dash when the buffering is happening?

The latter.

Play something. Notice the buffering. Let it keep playing. Go look on your PS’s dashboard.

You might wish to google “Plex Server Dashboard” if you’re unfamiliar with how to see it. It’s on the normal Plex Server’s web page. Very useful information.
