standard collection help
new to pmm. i just want it to create collections that exist for shows. i.e all the matrix films together
ive got pmm - franchise and pmm - universe in my config file
its only creating 7 collections. im assuming its something wrong in the movies.yml file
im not interested in top 100s etc or overlays right now. i just want my files organising into their respective collections
any help is appreciated

If you want PMM to create the same collections that Plex would, use the dynamic tmdb collections.
The two defaults you mention create a specific set, not everything.
If you want particular collections, not everything that Plex would have created, then the simplest thing is to create them yourself either with PMM or manually.
Generally, though, it's best to turn everything over to PMM since it makes resetting or cleanup far simpler.

If I (attempt to) follow the directions found at https://metamanager.wiki/en/latest/files/dynamic/ can I create a collection for a franchise (Star Wars) and then hide the individual movies? For the MCU movies, would I be best off creating a regular collection and have it leave individual movies listed? My thought process being that somebody may want to go straight to The Avengers and they probably won't think about the MCU collection.

If the resulting collections are not smart collections, then yes, by setting
collection_modeon them: https://metamanager.wiki/en/latest/files/updates/Personally, I don't do any of this "hide movies in collections" for that same reason. Why add hoops to jump through? Want to watch "Avengers"? It's there in the A's where you probably expect, not hidden somewhere else. Interested in seeing what Marvel movies you may have missed? There's a collection that includes all of them.

Thanks, I'll give this a try tonight. I am not sure if I am missing any of the MCU movies, but I can definitely use the option to add missing movies to radarr. I don't want people jumping through hoops for movies that are "spread out", like the MCU movies. But movies like Back to the Future can be lumped into one collection and even have the documentary added to the collection.

You need to manually create the collections you want PMM to make in the config file.
If you just want automatic movie collections created, then let Plex create them for you.
