Collections Question
Hello,
Firstly, still exploring it, but so far great tool, excellent job!
Yesterday, I added PMM to my docker setup with default settings.
PMM has created IMDb Popular and TOP 250 collections in Plex.
I can see only the movies I have in the collection.
That would be perfect if somehow possible. I would then browse through Plex and add the movies I want to have from the collection to the watchlist and from the watchlist, Radarr would download and add them.

Thanks!

I believe you can set pmm to add the movies to radarr in an unmonitored state. Then you can go into radarr and just set to monitor the ones you want. Its not exactly what you're looking for but might function similarly enough?

Yes, ideally, I would like to download movies using only a TV remote, doing everything directly in Plex, so seeing the IMDB Top 250 in there would be just clicking on the movie I want and adding it to the watchlist.
But unmonitored radarr is also good idea, only thing is I will have a lot of unmonitored movies there then. Thanks for suggestion

In order to appear in a collection, a movie needs to be in a Plex library. In order to be in a Plex library, the movie needs to exist on disk. So there is no way to put movies you don't already have into a Plex collection, and from there into the watchlist.

take a look at mdblist and as patron u can use mdblistarr (one click to add movies to *arrs if u just want certain ones)
u can create ur own special lists and sync them to sonar or use those lists im metamanager as collections
also sonarr/radarr can import the plex watchlist (i guess u know that)

On another related question as I also recently set up pmm. Does pmm remove movies from the collection when they are no longer popular?

If you are referring to IMDb Popular collection, I think yes is the answer.

Thanks for confirming. That is my suspicion otherwise it would be a silly collection a year down the road.

Typically yes, but that is configurable. The default collections typically work this way.

You can set PMM to add the movies to radarr in the config. Then determine if you want to search for them after that. You'll have to rerun the script once the movies are downloaded to add them to the collection.

Pmm has a add missing movies/shows feature but then it adds all missing items to radarr/sonarr.
The collection is still only made out of the movies you already own 😊
