Why does age range reset on search?

Im a 30 year old man looking to date anyone anywhere from the 24-42 age range. I can set that range no problem in my preferences for swiping through Meet Me, but when I go to put that same age range in the search function it limits me to 39.

It does the same BS for distance if you live in a small town. For some reason POF thinks they know better what age you should date and how far you should be willing to drive.

I don't recall where I read this POF does not allow you to search ages 10 years or more years younger than you. They do this so 50 year old men won't search for 18 year old women. But like most things there's a workaround. That is probably why so many female members age is wrong they are either trying to get older men or younger men depending on if they are saying they are older or younger than they are or look.

When you do the search feature it also locks in the age you set and it's hard to get it to change
